"But, when a long train of abuses and usurpations,
pursuing invariably the same object,
evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism,
it is their right, it is their duty,
to throw off such government, and
to provide new guards for their future security."

At no time in our nation's history were these words from the Declaration Of Independence more true than they are today. All thinking men, all who's eyes are open can see that there are those who, whether by conspiracy or by consensus, are moving this nation to despotism. As their control of goverment is so complete as to render petition futile, we are only left with the option of rising and removing these despots from the governments of these United States.

Like no other time in history (except when they were written) do these words hold so much significance. God Bless Our Founding Fathers and The Nation they founded! NOT the nation it has become!

I couldn't agree more with this statement and with both brian and contemporary patriot. Many quotes on this site are applicable here and I would like to use some of them here. 1 A SOCIETY OF SHEEP MUST IN TIME BEGET A GOVERNMENT OF WOLVES . BERTRAND DE JOUVENEL 2 MAKE YOURSELVES SHEEP AND THE WOLVES WILL EAT YOU. BEN FRANKLIN I wonder do they teach THOMAS PAINE in school anymore?

Geroge W is but a puppet of the real power brokers behind-the-scenes. The US has been marching steadily on the road to Socialism for decades and now apparently preferring the fascist shortcut to despotism as most civil protections have been removed -- just like Nazi Germany had done. I agree with Brian -- armed rebellion may be our only and last resort. Boycott the banks!

"Government is instituted for the common good; for the protection, safety, prosperity, and happiness of the people; and not for profit, honor, or private interest of any one man, family, or class of men; therefore, the people alone have an incontestable, unalienable, and indefeasible right to institute government; and to reform, alter, or totally change the same, when their protection, safety, prosperity, and happiness require it." (John Adams) I wonder when the many average men and woman of this country will wake out of their slumber and once again lay down their fortunes, lives and sacred honor to see a restoration of the great priciples upon which this once great nation stood.

The Right of Revolution protected by The Bill Of Rights ( 9th. and 10th.) , is a Duty as well, under intolerable conditions. The 54 signers of The Declaration ,and others of that time , knew exactly what to do.

Previous words in the Declaration of Independence should not be omitted: "Accordingly, all experience has shown that mankind are more disposed to suffer while evils are sufferable than to right themselves by ASBOLISHING the forms to which they become accustomed." Think not that Jefferson was a conservative when he was an ABOLITIONIST!!! Only fools want to save or conserve this Satanic system of slavery.

Mr. Obamunist Goodwrench, the socialistic assassin, being the current head of the occupying statist theocracy infesting this land, has accelerated a long train of abuses and usurpations in pursuit of absolute despotism. While in so doing, he and the rest of the occupiers have far surpassed any and all of the previous kings' atrocities. As stated by many here, the time to implement the clause is long past due. (Abolitionist - FYI, Jefferson was not a conservative, he was a liberal - oh how words have changed meaning. You also need to read all of history, not just cherry pick an event here and there to support you prejudices)

The long train of abuses span many decades now no matter what party has been in power, pursuing the same object of loading the nation with an unpayable debt that must eventually crush us, reducing us to utter despotism. We have more reason to throw off these shackles than our Founding Fathers did. It is time we did so.
