"National Health? Socialized pension funds? State-controlled television? Search and seizure laws? Forfeiture laws? If we're not living in the Soviet Union of the United States, we certainly have returned to 1776 and 'taxation without representation.' "

The Amerika of today is occupied by a malignant statist theocracy. There is no body politic that represents individual rights of the sovereign freeman. To choose a different omnipotent totalitarian in any given period of time makes no-one less a slave. The statist theocracy infesting this land uses socialism's dogmas (i.e., Obama care, the rest of the above quote's references, compelled compliance, license, victimless crimes, government larceny with impunity, and no individual ownership) to far exceed the tyranny of 1776.

Mike, Norwalk, told it like it is. Our government is totally corrupt and has been for a long time. As L. Neal Smith once said, "Government is a Disease Masquerading as it's own Cure".

To follow up on my comment, any hope of improving the Washington gang by voting is a study in frustration, a fools errand.

Socialism is no longer hiding as 'liberalism' or 'progressive' -- we are feeling the Bern' and 25% of Americans are all for it. How the hell did we get here? !
