Great quote, Alexander Haig was not the originator of this great line though , I believe he was quoting war time British Prime minister Winston Churchill who used it when refering to a fellow Member of Parliment . Keep up the good work I enjoy reading each day.

What ... It is NOT a lie if you call it something else??? It’s a diversion to make wrongdoing seem acceptable. Look at the false logic of “He’s not a garbage man, he’s a sanitation engineer”. Regardless of what you call him, he still removes your trash. So a sanitation engineer IS a garbage man. Likewise ... a terminological inexactitude IS a lie. How can "a lie is not a lie" rate 5 stars? A lie IS a lie, and this quote rates 0 stars.

This is a clever quote because it was originally indended as an insult . We live in an Orwellian world of double think and double speak, however I must agree with ''Joe'' of Rochester, a lie is still a lie no matter how it is dressed up . Many of our political representatives appear to have forgotten that.

I like it a lot - I am smiling great big and out loud. Hitlery's attorneys should use that. I almost gave it 5 stars for the creativity but alas, the subterfuge was too great ;-)

In the Garden, our progenitors were indoctrinated, by Beelzebub himself, in the martial exploitation of the faculty of the usage of language.

In all of its guises, signal among which the Communist's communication of "revolutionary truth" and dezinformatsya, and the Islamist's device of taqiyah, such exploitation is ineffably contemptible.

Remember that Bill Clinton was confused over what "is" meant.
