"The fatal attraction of government is that it allows busybodies to impose decisions on others without paying any price themselves. That enables them to act as if there were no price, even when there are ruinous prices -- paid by others."

BS! Thank God for government, National Parks etcetera. Yeah like individuals (swamp drainers, clear cutters, river polluters) don't impose prices on all of us. The quotes were particularly shallow today.

Freedom stolen with the sales pitch of good intentions and the total arrogance and dismissal of the price paid.

Today's quotes were excellent and Waffler is still a left wing idiot.

The entrenched bureaucracy, unions and closed door government add up to one big faceless psychopath that thinks we're sheep to be fleeced.

We hold this truth to be self evident ! Absolutely accurate and proven throughout history over, and over, and over again. Waffler, what do you think it is that removes you so far from logic, truth, a knowledge of law and personal rights. Just a quick help for you, at law, your / my rights end at my / your nose. By way of extremely terse example: if a person (individual, corporate, etc.) pollutes a river to the detriment of another, a natural law is broken and it is the representatives hired job to rectify the situation. That's by law, not a majority's moral imperative under a statist theocracy's usurpation. Waffler, your applied totalitarianism is an immoral and unlawful despotism.

An ancient book advises ""Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Will he not first sit down and estimate the cost to see if he has enough money to complete it?" Sowell rightly states that government attracts people who don't count the cost. This is fatal.

Herta, I agree. His articles on National Review Online are always clear, well-observed, and well-written. Like Colin Powell and Paul Ryan, Tom Sowell is way too smart to run for president. Nowadays, its seems only celebrity-seeking shallow-pates like Michele Bachmann and Sarah Palin want to run, just so they can be the first female president. They don't know or care about history or proper governing.

Today's quotes seem to be about Waffler, I guess that is why he doesn't like them. With no apparent limit to the amount of debt Congress may impose upon us and generations to come, and without ever having to show a 'profit', the government demonstrates its total lack of accountability for the TRILLIONS it spends for its own growth and domination.

Amen, Waffler. Only I would thank Goodness, not God. If there were a god we wouldn't have stupid quotations such as these three.

I do not spy on others because I respect the right of others to their privacy. The fool keeps tabulations on others, while the wise keeps tabs on themselves.  Socialism is the vision of social abilities to create.

Socialism is a system that promotes spying and kills creativity. I salute you Sillik on your most high and holy day April, 1. I see you are practicing one of your god's: "a lie told often becomes the truth" (Lenin)
