When one limits the freedom of another's non-criminal religion (in public, education, licensing pastors, etc.), everyone's freedom of speech, expression, and belief systems are diminished. Those state's that are most prolific in legislating limitations (from the legislative halls, the bench, enforcement offices) against the sovereign individual are also the same states where much of the citizenry rises to the level of abuse and commit more crimes.

    We must ensure the freedom of others even when it appears difficult, such as in Iraq, Afganistan, etc. If we do not we will alow the festering holes of facism to develope and the will come for us again. We must listen to their words and believe them. The tell us what they will do as Hitler did, and as Hitler was ignored until it cost half a million dead instead of a few thousand.

    I'm sorry guys. I don't appreciate this statement. And that's all it is. What does it mean to protect someone else's freedom? Surely those who wish to deprive someone his freedom is absolutely convinced that he is a criminal. Or do you think that criminals should not have their freedom deprived.
    Why do you guys think every quote that shows up here is worthy of praise. I would not be surprise if Clarance Darrow took all of 4 seconds to think up this platitude. For example what does the phrase "... in this world" mean? It just fills space needed to make the sentence sound important.

    Darrow was speaking to a jury, so in this case, to protect someone else's freedom by acquitting someone charged under a bad law IS protecting one's own freedom. A good argument for nullification of law by jury.

    The encroachment of socialistic control, not for the sake of safety, but, to subdue the independent sovereign, and their lack of, compliance with intrusive measures, laws, upon their independence. More and more within the past 30 years. Till finally the back bone of the nation broke, through greediness of gain, the banking industry, and the federal government at the helm of oppression. I was told years ago, " We are coming after you people ". ( Independent contractors ). Tyrants seem to always want what is not theirs, and will take by force if allowed. The " Middle man " wanting something for nothing. Sound business practice does not like a leach, or paying cuff money to the undeserving ! Cuts against the grain of commonsense ! " In this world " pertains to the people, wherever you are. Slavery is a universal language of oppression. Just as lying, cheating, and stealing of another's person and personal property. What do we do with all the poor and needy ? they say, but never wanting to return the individual to a free responsible state of being. Robing one, to give to another is never right, " The oppression of the poor makes a wise man mad ! Our enemy within the ranks of government, causing the policing of the world for profit, gobbling up what is left of natural resources, food stuffs, and the riches of wherever the independent's homeland may be. Makes me sick to think about it !! Social engineering, dumbing down of the population, creating discontent within the mass, for whatever purpose, in their deranged minds. Walter is not worth the breath, to engage in a civil conversation !!
