"... when the struggle seems to be drifting definitely towards a world social democracy, there may still be very great delays and disappointments before it becomes an efficient and beneficent world system. Countless people ... will hate the new world order ... and will die protesting it. When we attempt to evaluate its promise, we have to bear in mind the distress of a generation or so of malcontents, many of them quite gallant and graceful-looking people."

Reader comments about this quote:
He is dead, and I am not. And there is yet two other, younger generations of patriots that will not succumb to the empty blatherings of 'world brotherhood" An uneducated mud brick maker in Pashtunistan, is not my equal, and he never will be, because we have such different motivations and access to knowledge, services, and capital. He is not lesser than I, just different.

Wells was an egocentric genius in his own right. He was an expert at the art of deception and manipulation. It is impossible to start with democratic tyranny, mix in practices contrary to law, and then sprinkle in a heavy dose of immorality and power mongering and end up with an efficient and beneficent world system. There is a saying that goes something to the effect that, you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. The new world order is demented at its core and is only getting worse. In such a new world order, where can a person go that loves freedom, liberty, morality, peace, prosperity, recognition of the individual as a noble sovereign; and abhors such tyranny as is exemplified by compelled compliance, license, victimless crimes, governmental larceny with impunity, forced ID/insurance/charity, suspension of habeas corpus, suspension of inalienable right(s) as defined by the mob, etc., etc., etc.? WHERE?

So the mud brick maker is "not your equal", eh? Then I guess you realized how that sounded, and added that he's "not lesser" than you. Which is true, in many ways he's greater. It's that kind of xenophobia (along with our recent penchant for invading sovereign nations without provocation) that has fostered so much anti-Americanism around the world.

The kind of truth and reason that evokes comments from the right of "typical leftist elitism." The only mistake Wells made in this statement is that the rightists, who incidentally without realizing it, are fascists in reality and it is they who are creating a new world order and its promise is one of hell on earth for the great mass and wealth beyond measure for the few. Cheney and his puppet are making incredible progress in defeating freedom, equality and justice in the world.

Enlightening -- typical globalist rhetoric (whether from the right or the left) -- our servitude is for our own good, they say. Phooey!

On contrar Mr Wells followers and fans, we have a present order where all the sex traffickers and drug dealers observe there fellow trafficers and dealers as graceful and gallant. The new world order fellow who wants to end sex trafficers and drug dealing is looked as the great oppressor. The new world order fellow observes only barbarians.

Correction: On contrar Mr Wells followers and fans, we have a present order where all the sex trafficers and drug dealers observe their fellow trafficers and drug dealers as graceful and gallant.  The New World Order fellow who wants to end sex trafficking and drug dealing is looked as the great oppressor. The new world order fellow observes only barbarians.
