That scum bag is engaging in wishful thinking. It is true that any law or legislative act is always at a cost of freedom but we have to have them to compensate for the weaknesses of man. It is our responsibility to behave in such a way that laws and regulation is not necessary. When outsiders invade as the terrorists did it is they that are putting restraints on our freedom. It is mindboggling that we are that weak as a society. It took more than 6 weeks and 19 terrorists to do the damage done. Look to the given pattern at how the Nazis came to power in Germany. Sorry, folks, Rocco has got it right. We are NOT at war with Islamic fascists -- we invaded a sovereign Islamic country without declaring war and have taken their oil. Archer get a dose of reality, there is no requirement to declare war to engage in war (see the Barbary wars under Jefferson [when he got that koran Ellis took his oath on in order to understand the enemy, not to be enlightenten]). The First Gulf War was sanctioned by every authority outside North Korea and Cuba and ended in a cease fire which was violated by within 90 days and in total not less then 160 times. All adequate reasons under international law to resume hostilities. And now we may not leave according to the Geneva conventions until the country is stable. According to you, helorat, I could be classified a 'terrorist' and therefore do not deserve any Constitutionally guaranteed rights, nor does our government have to obey the rule of Law. I do not think you know who the real enemy is. Turn off the TV for a while and use your brain. I am from New York City and we don't need to take away the rest of the People's rights because a few buildings were blown up and a couple thousand people killed -- we can take a punch -- we have been expecting something like this for decades, so it is no real surprise. Most of us know that it was an inside job -- just look at the 'solutions' that were imposed -- exactly what they wanted. Religionists can justify any crime against humanity -- that goes for Christians as well as Islamists. Under the Patriot Act, agents of my government may now enter and search my home without a warrant; they never have to tell me about it until whatever they've found is accepted as evidence at my trial.
