"We should not believe that because ours is a freer, more democratic society, the same imprinting procedure has not occurred even here, in America. Every generation of school-age children has imprinted upon it a politically correct ideology concerning America's past and the sanctity of the role of the state in society. Practically every child in the public school system learns that the "robber barons" of the 19th century exploited the common working man; that unregulated capitalism needed to be harnessed by enlightened government regulation beginning in the Progressive era at the turn of the century; that Wild Wall Street speculation was a primary cause of the Great Depression; that only Franklin Roosevelt's New Deal saved America from catastrophe; and that American intervention in foreign wars has been necessary and inevitable, with the United States government required to be a global leader and an occasional world policeman."

Another tome masquerading as a quote. A crummy one at that.

An accurate observation of socialism's tyranny creep. A thread of truth occasionally rings amidst the otherwise religious should beees. How many believe that we are a freer people? Freer than who or what ? There are always a people that are worse off while, it sorta gives the warm and fuzzy all over. Is there a country on the planet today that does not participate in the despotism of compelled compliance, license, victimless crimes, larceny, or denial of inalienable rights? If there is, I don't know what that would be. If there were to be a comparison, We The People's freedom should be compared to liberty not someone's lack of tyranny.

"more democratic" sounds good by government standards but, when has that ever brought to fruition liberty ? (Never that I have ever been able to research). SO, if that perception of freedom and democracy is the premise for which the other concepts are built, that dominion level of slavery only gets worse.

A tome perhaps, and a very accurate one. Anonymous never varies from his ultra left wing position.

Why should he very Texas Jim, bomb throwing ultra left wingers aren't required to employ reason.

It's like throwing a mad dog over the fence into someone's backyard barbecue party, the action is the reaction.

Mike there is one tribe in Mexico. Termed by the Catholics as the most slippery of tribes. Which refused to be enslaved. Some what like a potlatch community of the north west years ago. They still thrive today. A people who place more value on their spiritual well being than the overrated value of undue labor. They have no word for barrow, their jester of open hands side by side. mean share. Liberty and the state of maintaining freedom, demand sharing with those like minded. The quote is obviously on point. A chicken in the pot is the monster of today.

The quote rings true. But unfortuantely, today, the robber barrons of the 19th century are being celebrated as bold adventurers. And the laws that were put in place to prevent the catastophies that occured in 2008 are still being coloured with the tint of nucances that only hinders the institutions that are 'too big to fail'. And if the US(ass) and A were only occationally attempting to be the worlds police, that would be fine. But to continually and constantly become envolved in every conflict on the globe THAT is where their system is failing. And we Canadians have to repeatedly clean up your mess. Now that's a tragedy beyond compare.

"More democratic" is evil by realistic standards. Our country's founders mandated a republic to protect the rights of the minority against mob rule of the best organized gang.

BTW, democracy and universal suffrage are separate issues. You can have or deny universal suffrage under a de-mob-ocracy or a republic.

Everyone knows about Nazi propaganda and that the Greek gods were myths. But OUR government doesn't put out propaganda, and the Bible is without question the word of God. Oops, I'm sorry, that is not politically correct, is it? The sooner one is able to discern truth from lies, the more likely we can identify and correct true causes of our current troubles -- you can bet it is NOT what the government, media, and schools are broadcasting (i.e. propaganda). I would go as far as to say that if you are a committed Democrat or Republican, you have been 'imprinted.' Neither of these parties can withstand scrutiny in the light of day.
