Without learning the history of this nation, this statement alone is a little scary...the masses we see growing appear to be moving away from freedom/liberty and appear to embrace a doctrine foreign to what Adams was speaking of. So Adams gets 5 stars for freedom. The federal government gets 2 for public education that destroyed any patriotism. The US appears to follow a media which lies, a government that is so divided leaders and members foment trouble, and an ignorant populace who believes their parents have destroyed the earth and dumped a huge responsibility upon them to 'save' it. They have also learned incorrectly, in the federal education system, that the US is greedy and should join the world society as they have no sense of US history, US Constitution and Bill of Rights, or who their ancestors were. Interesting times we live in. We can thank the UN and the federal education system for pulling the rug of liberty out from under USA society...  -- Abby      5

A return to State sovereignty and honest currency would be revolutionary and, dare I say, inevitable if Americans are ever to put the boat upright. The federal government was supposed to be like the U.N. and the States sovereign. Instead, Washington DC has become like London ruling the British Empire. The common people of America lost their federal government, and in its place is a de facto ruling class, the result of the 'transformation' of a democratic-republic of sovereign states into a nationalist-democracy of vassal states ruled by an oligarchy -- a monarchical form of government essentially, with a religion devoted to power in which all are indoctrinated. I do not think natural law will support it, though. Such systems historically fall from their own weight. The truth needs no props. Perhaps we are in the midst of the next Renaissance? ;-)  -- E Archer, NYC      3
