This nation is a REPUBLIC, not a democracy. Perhaps a democratic republic, tho calling it that is confusing to many people. So call it what it is: a Constitutional Republic. A nation based upon LAW, not mob rule. The Founders despised a democracy as it would soon waste and exhaust itself in suicidal tendencies. A republican form of government was established by the US Constitution to protect the natural born rights of the People from power-seeking men. The greatest minority is the individual whose rights are paramount to the State. Not everything is up for vote.
