Socialism's blatant failures are also ignored or evaded by freeloaders, power mongers perceiving they've risen to an upper caste, and all other deceived patrons of the morally bankrupt theocracy.

As a young man Sowell recognized that the people proposing socialism were not helping those in need but using them to advance their own political power. I always look forward to reading Sowell's work

Sowell is an honorable, intelligent and moral man. The progressives must despise him for having those characteristics. Socialism is a disease.

GREAT quote! I've not read his others, but love this one. I am a Progressive-Constitutionalist.......meaning, I want us to follow the letter and intention of the Constitution, while being Progressive in thought and in action moving into the future (which of course we do NOT do, as special interests have this show wrapped up, and "progressive ideas" are squashed like a bug at a picnic). By "Progressive" I do NOT mean for the neo-Conservatives or the Liberal-Progressives to spend spend spend and all in the name of "saving me" from, well, quite frankly, THEM! But then again, this move toward Socialism, which has been in full swing for about 100 years, through both the dems and the repubs, is an agenda, meant to destroy the American people, targeting the middle class specifically :) .........but not for long~ cheers!

Mr. Sowell is an intelligent, freedom loving, Conservative American. This must make the Liberals afraid, for the Leftards call him an 'Uncle Tom'. gtheo, I'm surprised you could take time from suckling the Guvmint teat to post...

Dr. Sowell is one of the few clear thinkers left in this country today. He is a syndicated columnist among his other accomplishments. He is a conservative and he is black and that drives the socialist/commies in this country up the wall. I challenge any of the socialist pinheads that post here to give an example of where they think socialism works. If they bring up Switzerland or Sweden, they would be mistaken because, like America is not a pure capitalist country, they aren't pure socialists. In fact, every socialist program we have in this country is ready to go broke because they don't create wealth, they ony drain it.

Only a damn fool would ignore the socialized path to the appropriate human stance, a socially connected gentleman, the socialist.

Connection: Only a damn fool would ignore the socialized path to the appropriate human stance, the socially connected lady or gentleman, the socialist.

Sillik, 🤪  wrong again. Only a damn fool would ignore every socialized (socialism's) path as such has uniquely resulted in totalitarian induced pain, poverty, slavery, war and otherwise, inappropriate human stances. Your godly syndrome advancement once more further's another socialist's dogma: "a lie told often enough becomes the truth." (Lenin). NOT! ! !

Mike, Norwalk, the situation is currently presented in this function.  Like Mr Mike, Norwalk, Mr Lenin was not well versed or understanding of the potential or the capacities of the human essence. We are just now slowly evolving into the appropriate socialized position and perspective  to fully understand our human manners and the accompanying social behavior. Socialism is quite correct.
