"Freedom is not worth living if it does not connote freedom to err.
It passes my comprehension how human beings,
be they ever so experienced and able,
can delight in depriving other human beings of that previous right."

You can't learn without being able to make mistakes. A 'self-governing' people are those that have the individual ability to steer themselves away from danger while travelling the road of life. Collectivists have twisted the meaning of 'self-government' to mean choosing a few 'leaders' to govern the rest of us.

I do beg to question, why it passes his comprehension. The right to err, must follow with correction. Weather through conscience, or carnal law. It might be a wise statement, but considering India, and their state of affairs. He must not have had much influence. One of the most prejudice people on the planet. Lacking moral fiber. Selling crack pipes in their little shops all across or nation.
