Since such a large number of individuals have abdicated their sovereignty under the Constitutional Republic, replacing it with godless socialism/fascism, wrapped in a democracy, our country deserves what it gets, including a lack of gratitude and rampant greed. As for those sovereigns that continue with love, liberty, and freedom in their heart, they may suffer under the effects of democracy, but the fruits their of will continue to flow forth. -- Mike, Norwalk
I suppose the quote could be used to justify either side of the welfare argument. Perhaps if the word freedom were substituted with the word 'power', we might get a better sense of the point. Unbridled power (freedom) fueled by an insatiable greed for more power can indeed threathen freedom for all.
