"From the moment the first leader of the first clan in human history took charge, he busied himself with this question: 'What can I say and do that will make my people react the way I want them to.' He was the first Pavlov. He was the first psychologist, the first propagandist, the first mind-control boss. His was the first little empire. Since then, only the means and methods have changed."

A very one sided view. Manipulation rather than education through the sharing of knowledge and sound leadership. Political posturing, and the dupe of corrupt statesmanship on the other hand, for the sake of profit, thrives upon dividing the opposing party, though, their philosophy be of sound doctrine. Taking the heat for doing the right thing is sometimes not very popular, such as in this Trump Era. calling out corruption within the ranks of bureaus for peace and prosperity's sake globally is the Right thing to do !!

"What can I say and do that will make my people react the way I want them to?"  That's a rather basic tactic with people in general ask any married couple. ;-)  Kids start doing that from day one as they figure out what works and doesn't work.  Teachers, bosses, anyone in a position of authority.  That's why I say the battle has always been for hearts and minds  the free thinker discovers his own programming and can correct false loops.  The solution is straight-forward: declare who I am, what I am about, and why I am here.  If I don't, someone else already has.
