Oddly the Bush Administration was as quick to legislate the Patriot Act in the wake of 911 just as the Hitler Regime was very quick to legislate the "Enabling Act" in the wake of the false flag Reichstag Fire. I guess the veracity of the statement depends on just who is trying to do what... But from a "We The People" point of view, the quote is simply good advice.

I'm with J on this one. The government uses tragedies such as war to grant itself all sorts of new powers.

You are right J. That was the first thing to come to my mind.

The quote addresses a well rehearsed media talking point to avert the lawful question: what specific clause in the Constitution authorizes the expanded power ? You can fool some of the people . . . (by way of example: where specifically dose the Constitution broach the the subject matter of Executive authorized assassinations, specifically giving the President the authority to kill whomever he wishes, when ever he wishes, without trial, with no consequences ?)

Agreed. One of the reasons is that if the State can rally support for its arbitrary acts without Constitutional authority merely because of the passions of the majority, then all is needed is to control the passions of the people -- no need to follow the law when the mob is on your side. So the modus operandi today is to keep the populace constantly alarmed and in a state of fear. False flags are the most common tool of the State -- if there are no terrorists, bomb it yourself. This is classic CIA mode of operations. 9/11 was an inside job, the invasion of Iraq was planned years in advance, all that was needed was to create a 'tragedy' and implement the plans. I never dreamed that once the US became the dominant super power in the world that our military would be used to do the very thing we fought against Hitler and the communists for. Can anyone deny that we Americans are hated around the world for being the hypocrites that we are? Bombing the world in the name of 'Freedom' and then controlling the conquered nations' assets and government is as evil as it comes. Something's gonna blow in America and then the enemy will be the American people themselves. I only hope the people will fight the right enemy when the time comes. So far, we have been dumbed down so much that it is going to be a turkey shoot.

I fully concur with you Mike, Nowalk - Nowhere in the U.S. Constitution does it give Executive authorization, specifically to the U.S. President the authority to kill whomever they shall wish to kill, without trial, and therefore without consequences.
