Thatcher, ever the English politician, neglected to say that people went to America to be free from the influence of corrupt tyrannical government. I'm sure she knew exactly what she was doing when she left that fact out.

That's why so many countries try to model their government after our constitution. Thatcher may be English, but who wants to bring up the "tyrannical" past when it was clearly not working for them!

What a difference a couple hundred years makes. Now the world is laughing at Mr. Obomunist Goodwrench and his house of horrors. The foundation has been chipped away until now, it is no longer recognizable.

Thatcher also said:"The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money" ...and that's where we are now after many administrations have had their way with American Freedom. It's time to clean house folks. Vote them all out in November.

Troddle what does that mean. Did you intend perchance to say trollop. How come she was followed by Tony Blair for like 8 or 10 years. Maybe because her government was something most of the people were trying to escape, hey. Most Englishmen came here for the freedom to make a killing by growing crops with slave labor, then the new world poisoned the old world with cancer from tobacco and obesity from sugar.

I remember when her tax code was going to be $830.00 per person in the household. That sounded great to me and i hoped we would follow their example, but it never was implemented.

True. We know of course that when a politician tells a truth, they are trying to justify their own actions for which the real reason is kept concealed.

Nice that she admitted it. She must have calculated how many slaves and for how long the United States held in history compared to all the other countries on earth, where they all but take the name "slaves".

Unfortunately, it was only a handful that were enlightened and that soon went once the Christian far right and the slavery took over... Today, America has become a hot bed of far right conservatism.

Socialism abides on both sides of the isle. It was the " Old " right wing Conservative, inwardly Christian that broke the chains of slavery, to Free the Guilty conscience from the deception used by politicians and preachers to maintain control of, and keep the slaves as slaves. Once justified and freed, Reckon it to be so, and quickened by the Spirit of Liberty ordained. One must claim liberty to have it ! Doctrinal knowledge withheld for the purpose of controlling slaves. The protestant reformation began with the discovery of deception practiced by the so called " Church and State " working in concert . This practice is sickening and cruel in the greatest degree ! As my teacher told me, it is hard for people to realize the state thy are in ! Bound by the chains of a guilty conscience, unduly so. It is a sad and defeated soul who would be put under such a heavy chain and yoke of bondage. We battle not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual wickedness in high places within the church and state. If not for the Core of True Believers, Liberty would be lost. The Spirit of Truth and Liberty lives on from generation to generation. Thank God for his Mercy. We are the sanctuary of Liberty before the world. Even though the outward appearance is defiled !

The land of the free and home of the brave is still embodied in the Declaration of Independence; though ! ! !, the Amerika of today is a lawless tyranny (anti-"laws of nature and of nature's God"). The occupying statist theocracy infesting this nation has, in most part, erased from the hearts and minds of corporeal man, the being's innate recognition of individual sovereignty, inalienable rights and liberty at nature's law.

Be that as it may, this feature freedom is not the vital priority for the life dimension.  We must be able to function and so it is responsible behavior that takes the vital priority. We must measure and examine our every move and make not the free move necessarily, but the wise correct choice. It not for the lack of free choices that causes our problems, but making the correct choice that allows our sustainability.

Sillik, your theology has, since inception, been anti-liberty and freedom (anti-law / science) and pro-enslavement. You define a religious cause and effect of pain, suffering, impoverishment and all degradations of slavery "responsible behavior that takes a vital priority." Your religion of miss/re-definitions and ecclesiastical order, touted as "the wise correct choice", is a radical misdirection outside liberty and freedom's  in truth and fact, base/ultimate meanings.

Mike,, Norwalk "Only the educated are free,"  only understanding what freedom is, can an individual be set free.  Freedom to perform crimes is not free. Understanding through responsible behavior unlocks our confinement. The present "Stockholm Syndrome of the conventional citizens allows no understanding of true freedom. The healthy mentality is free. True representation is a sign of freedom.

Sillik you are absolutely wrong. In your case, as evidenced by previous posts, education equals indoctrination of religious dogma. Individual sovereignty, inalienable rights as well as freedom and liberty at nature's law are faculties of birth  innate with the noble being / ab initio through fruition. Further, your understanding through responsible behavior runs through a religious filter that assures confinement.

Liberty is; “The power of acting as one thinks fit, without any restraint or control, except from the laws of nature.” (Bouvier’s Law Dictionary) Liberty is the “exemption from extraneous control. The power of the will, in its moral freedom, to follow the dictates of its unrestricted choice, and to direct the external acts of the individual without restraint, coercion, or control from other persons. Liberty is the right which nature gives to all mankind of disposing of their persons and property after the manner they judge most consistent with their happiness, on condition of their acting within the limits of the law of nature, and so as not to interfere with an equal exercise of the same rights by other men.” (Black’s Law Dictionary 1st ed.). Clarifying original fact, nature’s law intent, and de jure jurisprudence: liberty is; “The condition of being free from confinement, servitude, or forced labor.” (American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language, Fifth Edition.) “Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law,' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual.” (Thomas Jefferson) “The Natural Liberty of Man is to be free from any Superior Power on Earth, and not to be under the Will or Legislative Authority of Man, but to have only the Law of Nature for his Rule.” (John Locke - second most quoted source for creation of the Constitution) “Personal liberty, or the Right to enjoyment of life and liberty, is one of the fundamental or natural Rights, which has been protected by its inclusion as a guarantee in the various constitutions, which is not derived from, or dependent on, the U.S. Constitution, which may not be submitted to a vote and may not depend on the outcome of an election. It is one of the most sacred and valuable Rights, as sacred as the Right to private property ⋯ and is regarded as inalienable.” (16 C.J.S., Constitutional Law, Sect.202, p.987). Liberty, under “the laws of nature and of nature’s God” (Declaration of Independence) – nature’s law, is the state of exercising all inalienable rights. “All men are created equally free and independent, and have certain inherent rights, of which they cannot, by any compact, deprive or divest their posterity; among which are the enjoyment of life and liberty, with the means of acquiring and possessing property, and pursuing the obtaining of happiness and safety.” (George Mason) “Liberty exists in proportion to wholesome restraint; the more restraint on others to keep off from us, the more liberty we have.” (Daniel Webster) “So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.” (James 2:12) For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.” (Galatians 5:16) “Where liberty is, there is my country” (Benjamin Franklin).

FREEDOM is: “The state of being free; liberty; self determination:” (Black’s Law Dictionary 1st Edition); freedom is: “the power or liberty to order one's own actions” (Colins English Dictionary); freedom is: “The ability to act at liberty.” (Webster’s Dictionary) “All men by nature are equal in that equal right that every man hath to his natural freedom, without being subjected to the will or authority of any other man; being all equal and independent, no one ought to harm another in his life, health, liberty or possessions.” (John Locke) “Freedom means the supremacy of human rights everywhere.” (Franklin D. Roosevelt) “Freedom is independence of the compulsory will of another, and in so far as it tends to exist with the freedom of all according to a universal law, it is the one sole original inborn right belonging to every man in virtue of his humanity.” (Immanuel Kant) Freedom is an endowed expression from an inherent creation; NOT ! an abstract ethos based / outside-in to-be-controlled anomaly.

Once again, Fred, you describe the 'end' without describing the 'means' to that end.  The freedom guaranteed by our Constitution is only supportable by men and women of honor and mutual respect for the rights of others.  This of course requires conscientious study and compassion for others.  Your philosophy ignores that without a voluntary adoption of your proscribed behaviors, the 'utopian' dream of 'sustainability' is impossible to implement without statist force.  True fascism is what you describe over and over, dressing up your posts with flowery words without substance.  The end result is the same: government above all, and everyone in 'service' to the state's dictates.
