cal, you are absolutely correct. I have given many horror stories on this blog about how corrupt the courts are. It started with the courts ruling in favor of unconstitutional legislation. It then progressed to activist courts writing their own law, then more. Now the courts don't care what legislation says, or what stare decisis made up earlier, they do what ever they want, when ever they want. My one friend's case was turned down twice by grand juries then went to court with no grand jury ever hearing his case. The charges against him were based on expired statutes. Not until the trial was well under way did any statutes get changed to something current. The prosecutor's arguments had nothing to do with anything he had ever been charged with. After he was convicted he kept trying for appeals. The official record of court transcripts and proceedings were completely changed at least 3 times we know of, eliminating any chance for appeal. His case is only typical of what is going on in the courts today. Even attorneys are quiting the profession because it is so corrupt -- Mike, Norwalk 3
