"There never did, there never will, and there never can exist a parliament, or any description of men, or any generation of men, in any country, possessed of the right or the power of binding and controlling posterity to the `end of time,’ or of commanding for ever how the world shall be governed, or who shall govern it. ... Every age and generation must be as free to act for itself, in all cases, as the ages and generations which preceded it."

ooops, 5 stars for the sentiment. I do agree that freedom and liberty will have an opportunity to return to this land one day.

DC will pass something as SSN. The first generation gets a free ride off the backs of the generations to come. Paine was so right.

from M Connelly:The Bill of Rights does not contain a list of rights that are given to the American people by the government. Instead it provides a list of the rights that are inherently ours, and they cant be taken away by the government. M Connelly 2011

Another reason we should scrap all the laws and start over. Let the states regain their sovereign power, let's cut the binds from the banksters that load us with debt, and let's truly free ourselves from tyranny. Start with the Declaration of Independence, for the arguments for separation are as valid today -- even more. Let's get rid of the Commerce Clause and prohibit the government from giving the power to create money to private banks. Let us have hard and credit currencies the values of which would be determined by the market and not statutory law. Let America produce again and watch us prosper.

For how many decades or generations can a nation subsist on its patrimony?

Can the Golden Thread of continuity, once severed, be reconnected?

    We shall see.

Exposing tyranny within all the ranks of service. A new Era,
Truth and the intrinsic value of honesty plot the course. To what degree and to what methods in obtaining such goals ?

Robert, you will never 'see it' until you 'embody it.' Promote individual responsibility rather than gun control, population control, health control, education control, revenue control -- all those 'controls' rest with the individuals themselves.

This page has made for most interesting reading. Quotes can be spurious, pandering, posturing and epithetical to distraction. Uselessly pontificating because they do not reach the complicated nature of what living in a constantly changing society represents. Yet, the cycle of existence has commonalities which enable people to see, understand, the basic human motives (forces) behind individual issues of each age and across cultures. Yet, there are differences; unique to each age because we are evolving, growing, maybe. What is the alternative?
