"We've got to teach history based not on what's in fashion but what's important. If we forget what we did, we won't know who we are. I'm warning of an eradication of the American memory that could result, ultimately, in an erosion of the American spirit."

History has to be taught on "what's important"  WHAT? ? ? What's important to the protection and advancement of individual sovereignty, inalienable right, liberty, and the laws of nature and of nature's God varies greatly from the importance laid upon history from the occupying statist theocracy infesting this land. In an intended erosion of law, liberty and rights, Mr. Obamunist Goodwrench the assassin often spoke of the ultimate "American spirit" of history eradicating American memory from many. Concerning individual sovereignty, inalienable rights, liberty and the laws of nature and of nature's God, truth is to be taught as the standard with an history of events that relate thereto.

In school, history class was taught as 'Social Studies'  why the change in terminology?  American History is no longer a required subject in High School, nor do colleges seem to care.  Americans are taught that the USA is a democracy  it is not, never was.  As a result, the government has been able to usurp the sovereign powers of the People.  Declaring states of emergency indefinitely in order to enforce unlawful dictates has become a racket  everybody wants in on the act.  Chicken Little and Henny Penny are running for president, and apparently won.  Is there nothing Americans won't fall for any more?

The American spirit is to globalize. The American spirit is to recognize in good faith our foreign neighbors, realize our inner sentiment, feelings, and social being and not exploit our neighbors, foreign or domestic, but to become more cooperative in the good neighbor and good partner policy.

Additional note: there is a path of function possible to allow 100% employment, paying off the national debt in its entirety, reduce crime..etc, etc, a way from the grave.  The fashion of which Reagan speaks is giving us less and we paying more, the old way straight to grave, no real employment, debt, crime etc...etc. The memories are not that particularly good. We need a new path of away from the grave.  A way of paying less and acquiring more life. There is a way.  We must seek deeper onto our hearts and souls. The examined life is indeed a valuable life.

Sillik, your undefined "path of function" is a religious dogma that will not work (in science, at nature's law or reality). Under the current system (flawed and illegal as it is) 100% employment is allowed. There are many reasons why people are unemployed. The national debt can NOT be paid off ! ! ! The current monetary system is one of perpetual debt. Each dollar in circulation was borrowed with interest. The interest payments must be borrowed also. A never ending story of debt. "A way of paying less and acquiring more life." is a religious non-related nonsense that is beyond oxymoronic.

Mike,, Norwalk, the debt can be paid by a responsible attitude.  Money which is the representation of distrust, with education disseminated, will be on its final presentation. Matured, trusted, humans will be determined to pay the debt and prove the integrity of our "promising" species. The use of money will be virtually eliminated and on its way to it destined "dustbin of history."  Finally, the international declaration will proclaim, in humanity, from this day forward, we  shall forever trust, and we will all swear to it.

Sorry, Fred.  There is not enough money in circulation to pay the debt  the 'debt' IS the money supply!  If everyone paid off every loan, there would be no money and we would still owe more.  The money supply has been 100% borrowed  that is how currencies are 'minted.'  I don't blame you for not understanding, only one in a million understand it  but every currency trader on Wall Street understands it, and so do the Federal Reserve Banks, the EU central banks, the Chinese central bank, and every bank in the world knows how currency is created out of thin air whenever it is 'borrowed.' It is called 'monetizing debt.'

The US money supply consists of government debt, mortgage debt, credit card debt, student loans, car loans, and every other kind of loan issued from banks.  The economy absolutely requires perpetual borrowing even just to continue to pay the interest of the existing debt.

Before this system was foisted upon the nation in 1913, the US was the richest and most prosperous country in the world.  There were NO income taxes  all funds necessary for the government were collected via excise taxes, i.e. tariffs.  WWI & WWII were the direct result of switching to this fiat currency system.  Every war is a banker's war!  "Endless money forms the sinews of war." (Cicero)

BTW, socialism absolutely requires this banking system because it cannot even begin to pay for all the government programs promised without endless debt.  Educate yourself, and learn that whoever controls the issuance of currency controls all industry and commerce  this is NOT capitalism, it is a central plank of communism and designed to crush any true capitalist system.

Mr Archer, not endless money but more valuable money.  Our outstanding creditors like China will be paid back with the more developed buying power of the US dollar compared to the Chinese Yuan. The American economy can be put on a more stable foundation raising the GDP from 30 to 100 trillion dollars annually.  Our Chinese friends and others on being recompensed, will observe the productiveness and creativeness of the USA and understand that America has revolutionized productively and creatively to a point where the economic dynamics has changed to a human formulation and be recruited  into that human form dynamic. In humanity we trust will positively influence all.

Another note: surely you Mr Musk, Mr Bezos, Mr Zuckerberg and the rest of the billionaire's club can't with full responsible conscience continue to turn your heads as the  present polarizing economic situation continues to spiral out of control.  You have to understand we have a obligation to all to reinstate the lost tax controls and even develop a more fully scaled progressive tax reformulation.  Where can we really place the state of your humanity, you must consider the present deprivation of all and reconsider.  Those of you with billions must step forward and discontinue this economic destruction and assist in the reformulation.

NO!  No more Marxist claptrap!  It is poisonous, treasonous, and designed to break America, which it has almost nearly done if it were not for the indominable spirit of Liberty that still resides within the true patriots of the nation.

Again, it would quite progressive to observe our super rich involved in a graduated tax reformulation. Now that's true American integrity.

Correction: It would be quite impressive as well as a great display of human integrity to observe the super rich involved in a graduated tax reform.  Whereas the The Titanic sinking took many of the members of the super rich, the super rich were able to react in time to save the sinking United States economic circumstances and themselves to make everyone wealthy and prosperous.

Strongly agree! Vital to remember our past, warts and all, or we're doomed to repeat it. Today's culture wants to rewrite history books. Ignoring historical complexities risks losing our identity. Almost like trying to navigate a Moto X3M level blindfolded – guaranteed wipeout! Let's prioritize factual accuracy over trending narratives.

Teaching what would not be in fashion would be functional for instance honesty and integrity.  Trying to make a positive contact with the super rich fashionable pirates like Musk, Bezos, Zuckerberg and rest of these billionaire criminals and their bullshit products is a waste of time and I apologize.  To avoid WW 3 we must restrain these billionaire pirates like we should have the last group who started WW 1 and WW 2.

The present billionaires acquired their riches the old fashioned fashionable way, piracy. We need a very assertive graduated tax reformulation to correct the situation and eliminate the billionaire status.
