"One of our best-kept secrets is the degree to which a handful of huge corporations control the flow of information in the United States. Whether it is television, radio, newspapers, magazines, books or the Internet, a few giant conglomerates are determining what we see, hear and read. And the situation is likely to become much worse as a result of radical deregulation efforts by the Bush administration and some horrendous court decisions. Television is the means by which most Americans get their “news.” Without exception, every major network is owned by a huge conglomerate that has enormous conflicts of interest. … The bottom line is that fewer and fewer huge conglomerates are controlling virtually everything that the ordinary American sees, hears and reads. This is an issue that Congress can no longer ignore."

Knee jerkers take note especially, for here is a lefty socialist bewailing the control of the press. Mind control enthusiasts are everywhere they can be left or right.

I do not know if Bernie Sanders is Pink, Red, Green, or Red White and Blue. But this I do know; look at the list of members in the Council on Foreign Relations and you will see many that are part of the media. Then read "How the World Really Works" by Alan Jones, It is a good summary of the many various groups that are gaining control over the the decision making of our government. I confess that when I was in may late 30's I was also skeptical about this "New World Order" thing. But a friend provided a few books for me to read and I was in complete denial. I thought I had to prove to myself that our nation was not being manipulated. What I found was, knowledge has a price. I could not find any evidence to show that the CFR was anything positive and I was getting more and more depressed. And it is obvious now the reason most people don't want to search out the truth is they are afriad it may not be what they want to find. I now could list of dozens of books for you to read that provide evidence that Bernie Sanders quote is only a small fraction of how the CFR is manipulating America. But I warn you this truth comes at a very personal price.

Bernie Sanders is one of the best human beings we could have representing us. To disrespect him is to show depressing ignorance. What he says about the mainstream media is absolute truth. The facts are out there! And do you think those corporations that own the media are going to give you the straight truth? Do you think they are not going to bend your brain in the direction they want you to think? You don't know it but you are thinking just the way the rich and powerful want you to think. Stay that way and you protect their interests at YOUR and OUR expense.

I must admit I don't know a lot about Bernie Sanders except that he is a self-described 'democratic socialist' and still has been elected Congressman and now Senator. At least he is honest about it -- like Dick from Fort Worth. He of course caucuses with the Democratic party, so that should be no surprise. I have to agree with Dick on this one. And Ralph Searer is right on target as well -- and, man, is the hard truth ever depressing -- no wonder we dare not tread into such inquiries, if it doesn't put us to sleep, it destroys such happy and hopeful delusions. The CFR is a shadow government in America -- 99% of all members of Congress are CFR members as are the majority of the mainstream press and their owners. That is why we get the same types of people in government over and over. They are not screwing up like we think -- they are doing EXACTLY as planned. The same 'congolmerates' that own the Federal Reserve own the CFR and other pseudo-government agencies. But pay no attention to the man behind the curtain -- hey, I think Oprah is on!

Even a communist can be right once in a while. If you want to see how different corporations, governments, and the media industry itself control edit the information that is allowed to be published, take a look at various foreign media sources. If only a small portion of each population believe what is published, it is no surprise that there is always a war somewhere in the world. After all, there's a pile of money to be made in war. Regulation of the industry is immaterial, however. The regulators are just as corrupt as anyone else. You simply trade one set of manipulating editors for another and they will just foment war against someone else, somewhere else.

I am color blind, so I will take this man's word for its meaning. When big conglomerates influence media, they align with right or whoever is in power. When government influences media, it is not democracy anymore. Ever ponder on this quote by Alan Moore, "The ending is nearer than you think, and it is already written. All we have left to choose is the correct moment to begin."

Robert, the only reason I didn't give it five stars is that I, unlike Bernie Sanders, don't believe regulation or deregulation makes much of a difference at all. If you regulate, you are simply trading one set of puppet masters for another.

Kevin, the "Liberal Congress" has only been in power for the last two years. It was actually a "Conservative Congress" who gave us the Patriot Act 1 and 2, Military Commissions Act, Real I.D., Intelligence Bill, torture allowances, etc. Sure, the "liberals" may have done some bad stuff, but our current problems over the last 8 years have come from our Conservative side (I say this as a self-professed "Conservative" -- although I deplore the neo-conservative fascism that's rampant in our current society. I suggest you look into it and find out how bad it is for yourself).

Every direction that you look in, we are in terrible shape. Inflation, commodity prices, unemployment, taxes, illegal invasion, the transfer of our wealth to Europe, Asia, and Arabia, and on and on. Is there any doubt that we are being distracted with nonsense and lies. If we don't open our eyes, we will never see. A well informed and vigilant society is a free society. Now if I know this, don't you think that the tyrants know it too?

Well said Logan - Ken, the reason why we are in such trouble (money-wise) is because we deregulated the banking system. I agree, they are both puppet masters, but sometimes it's better the devil you know.

My comment was not about why we are in such bad shape. My point is that they want us to look the other way while they put blinders on us. In other countries they sit around and discuss everything from the theater to politics and religion. Here in America we are conditioned not do talk about such things in public. We are supplied with entertainment and distractions ad nauseam. Is it any wonder that we can't discuss anything without getting enraged with each other? Is it a surprise that most Americans are so poorly informed? I don't think that we are stupid people. In fact I think that we are the most brilliant people on Earth, but we have been dumbed down for a reason. The reason is so that the tyrants can continue to get away with their dirt, while society never notices what they are doing. More freedoms have been lost by gradual usurpation than have ever been lost by force of arms. This can only happen if we are not watching, aware and vigilant. Hence they distract us. Its three card monti on a grand scale.

Sanders has always had a good eye for identifying certain things that are wrong - it is his erroneous solutions that set him apart (such as more socialism will fix the ills of more socialism). The controlled ecclesiastical propagating malefactors (media) - the 4th branch of the criminal cartel (occupying statist theocracy) now infesting this land is that which choose its own socialist criminal in a head to head match for the head executive office. The corporate/government propagation media sets parameters of desired narratives and then slants the spin for a conversion to the Borg's complete absorption.

Sanders, a self professed democratic socialist. Perhaps he is envying, not being a successful enough Fascist. Our nation was not founded to operate in such a manner. Corruption runs deep.
" Let us walk honestly as in the day; not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envy". It can be said, the chamberlain should never commit chambering with that which belongs to "We the People". The chamberlain can be either a slave or a freedman. A Caric Chamberlain, minister of state. castrated to prevent corruption of state property. Through Corporate Privilege, wantonness comes forth, creating strife and envy. Socialism has many bed fellows which corrupt state property. That being the rape of the individual sovereigns of this once great nation. Sanders is nothing more than a bed fellow of socialism, corrupt through chambering all the while creating strife and envy. Castrate financially the ministers of state to avoid corruption. If a tax is not levied, it is not collected. If privilege is not granted, there is no wantonness but that which is common among all individual sovereigns. Unprivileged individual sovereignty.

Chambering "Koite" by metonymy, the cause standing for the effect, denotes conception. Liberty and Freedom are the property of the individual sovereign which makes up the state at large. Of which this nation was sold to God. so to say congress and the like spoil the property of the state is an understatement.

The world of Morality and Financial Responsibility should Never be tampered with ! The apostle Paul states, " I wish they were even "cut off" that trouble you." That is to castrate ! Physically and fiscally. Depending on which is the property of the state, seeing it belongs to God, neither shall be polluted or exploited for personal gain.
