and when the responsibility of citizenship is evaded,
democracy decays and authoritarianism takes over."

It certainly wasn't easy living under his judgment. He centralized all power to DC and began the active court system.

Not shooting the author (he being one of the greatest destroyers of liberty, freedom, law, justice, rights the Constitution and all else that was great with a republican form of government), the entire statement is from beginning, through fruition, half truths and incomplete understandings, woven together to make a lie. On this blog, I have ad nausium explained the difference between a republic and a republican form of government. A primary difference between a republic and a democracy is; a republic exists by rule of law / a democracy suffers under rule of man. The author's somewhat weaving the two together as similes is a lie and exposes his demented application of legal positivism. The use of citizenship here paints a picture of an inferior to a superior (the individual, under natural law jurisprudence of the de jure States united was a sovereign master with all rights inalienable and inherent) The phrase; "responsibility of citizenship", is also a red herring from a self perceived god and master.
