Not necessarily so. Hillary would have us believe that we are all bad people and naturally prone to doing bad things. Which is why we need so many laws and tools of control. To keep us in line. She's a socialist which in my mind is a very low form of life. Education can also teach us to recognize the early signs of tyranny such as we are seeing now. And education is what is being denied the masses...for a reason.

Oscar Wilde was one of the most amoral, vile people to have been on this earth. He couldn't see any thing but evil in everyone because that was all that was in him. He wrote a book that became an excellent movie - The Picture of Dorian Gray - that I believe was a fictional parallel to what Oscar thought of his own soul latter in life. He believed that the only thing you could do that was wrong was to get caught. His quote is a statement on what he thinks of society and its responsibility for the actions of individuals. He did not take responsibility for his actions and this quote is an example of his attempt at casting the blame on others.

"Since they thought it foolish to acknowledge God, he abandoned them to their foolish thinking and let them do things that should never be done. Their lives became full of every kind of wickedness, sin, greed, hate, envy, murder, quarreling, deception, malicious behavior and gossip. They are backstabbers, haters of God, insolent, proud, and boastful. They invent new ways of sinning, and they disobey parents. They refuse to understand, break their promises, are heartless, and have no mercy. They know God's justice requires that those who do these things deserve to die, yet they do then anyway. Worse yet, they encourage others to do them too." Paul, formerly Saul - A.D. 57

Warren, I’m afraid your criticism is without truth or honor, and as Oscar would say “Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit”. Oscar Wilde was an incredible artist in a world full of bigotry and self-righteousness, his works were brilliant. His talent was abnormal, exceptional, and much the delight of the Victoria parlors. His other plays are some of the most produced, such as The Importance of Being Earnest and Lady Windermere’s Fan. His poems, critical dialogues, and many other works will be enjoyed throughout eternity. Oscar was Gay and a darn good one too. And the last thing he did was to shirk responsibility as his prison sentence would attest too. - he was offered safe passage to Paris and refused. Lastly, in his preface of The Picture of Dorian Gray “Those who find ugly meanings in beautiful things are corrupt without being charming . This is a fault. Those who find beautiful meanings in beautiful things are cultivated. For these there is hope. They are the elect to whom beautiful things means only beauty” Have a nice day, Robert P.s. He was cynical to the point of brilliance. I deal with Socialism on another occasion

Ron, there is more death and destruction, cruelty, torture, evil, hate, and the list goes on. You have the nerve to quote from a book that has caused untold misery. The harm that religion has caused throughout the world is so evil that one thinks this must be his world and that God and the devil are synonymous. Look into the mirror and see the hate you have for your fellow human beings ■ there is more ethics and kindness in Bertrand Russell than any religious figure with the exception of Mother Teresa and even she had doubts towards the end.

Robert I was not being sarcastic. I do believe I was absolutely correct in everything I wrote. Being an artist does not automatically relieve you of moral responsibility

Even though the dumbing down of America progresses, there do not appear to be any shortage of clever rogues.

    1. An unprincipled, deceitful, and unreliable person; a scoundrel or rascal. 2. One who is playfully mischievous; a scamp. 3. A wandering beggar; a vagrant. 4. A vicious and solitary animal, especially an elephant that has separated itself from its herd. 5. An organism, especially a plant, that shows an undesirable variation from a standard. Warren, as you can see the definition for the the word "rogue" that is used does not imply that people are naturally evil, nor that they are made so by society. Merely that society does instill in us a certain propensity to value ourselves greatly. It is mind set that looking out for yourself is always the best course of action. If you honestly say that you do not think that this is indeed what society hammers into people, then you are a fool. To be a rogue is not to be evil, intention and personal choice make that determination, and assuming that that word means as much is to be naive.

RobertSRQ, I agree with your religion comments except for your Comments on Mother Teresa. Read, "The Missionary Position" by Christopher Hitchins For another view of this woman.

I think LAWYERS top the list of clever rogues. '-) Followed by social engineers, psychologists and propagandists.

Indeed so! Unfortunately, most of the clever rouges are buffoons... with no integrity!

Warren, I wonder what life would be if you were Gay in a world of homophobes - he was attacked left, right, and center by the establisment for his love of Bosie and was sent to prison for it!.. Learn a little before you spew hatred....
