I'm a fan of Sobran; I've liked the majority of what he's had to say. I'm 10 stars to the quote.

How timely now that you and I are now in the insurance business whether we like it or not to the tune of 85 billion.

Yep. Whether we like it or not, we're all forced to be in the insurance business as well as the mortgage business, as well as the road building, education retirement pension, heath care, park service, and war businesses. This looks like a good place to introduce the Pirates and Emperors video. piratesandemperors.com

Right on Logan, I'm with you. My own favorite is what is the difference between a rattle snake and a politician. Well, a rattle snake leaves you alone unless you bother him first.

The Federal Reserve runs the country, so the government is obligated to save financial institutions. With every 'crunch' (we don't call them 'crashes' any more), the financial community becomes more and more centralized under the thumb of the Fed. Let these companies go bankrupt as they are supposed to. People have to learn from their mistakes. When you play with Monopoly money, it all goes back in the box eventually. And as far as the government being in the insurance business, wake up, 99% of our legal statutes are based upon insurance (otherwise known as 'securities'). Insurance is gambling and sometimes the house loses -- let them! We have been trading freedom and responsibility for insurance and 'security' for a long time -- THAT is politics and the human weakness of hoping to get something for nothing. Don't blame the politicians -- it is the People who use them to pickpocket their neighbors -- pickpockets all.

That could have been Twain - very good Archer except I do blame the politicians too; they are the Fagan's of America.

At least a pickpocket would have the decency not to con you by saying he was robbing you for your own good.
