Corporations are legally a bifurcation of ownership and control. A corporation's day to day activities fall to private operations under government auspices, authority and ultimate direction while, legal ownership remains with, an aloof from We The People, government. In totalitarian regimes, no private competition to corporations are allowed (by way of example: the public sale of a trust's beneficial interest) A title represents a specie of privilege with marketability while perfect ownership denotes the non-ability to confiscate under any condition. While the State, in toto aloof from We The People, owns all property, allowing only title or license, it will continue to reign supreme as the statist means of production (a socialist state, administered somewhat contrary to Marxist thought).  -- Mike, Norwalk

Land use laws are prevalent in the USA now, so farmers can barely farm in some states as it takes a permit to cut a tree, a permit to plow a field, a permit to have cattle/sheep/chickens/pigs near springs and creeks, we are no different here than Peikoff's quote already...and where is the protest? Small!...we have citizens with herd mentality. They have been dumbed down in school and we as parents weren't getting it...it is they that will suffer, the next generations...and it will be our fault. Glad to see that you can agree with facts, Waffler. Let's see if you are willing to witness the parallels of Nazi Germany and the policies of Obama today. (Heck, the GOP are as much to blame.) While intentions may have been good, the centralization of economic power and control of private property is not something we have entrusted our government with as we cannot trust anyone with that much power. History shows that while a nation may prosper under a good and benevolent king, all happiness and prosperity can be destroyed by an inept and controlling monarch.
