Jim k, Austin, good question, it does seem some prayers do count. but rather a personal situation, that is within your own heart. When looking at a bigger picture, there are those that have personal relationships that guide nations ,other than economics, and personal gain. So much misconception or just plain lack of knowledge about God. IF you want to know more about Who He is  "The God You May Not Know" by Pastor David Jeremiah might open your eyes. God is not some "entity" sitting on a cloud "out there" Who has no say in our lives, bad or good. He is involved in our daily lives whether you want to believe it or not. We live in a fallen world. There is evil in the world. Bad things happen to good people. Things that we'll have no understanding of in this world. No I don't understand why it's allowed...but we make choices whether to chose it or chose Him. He hears all prayers...and we have no clue why He does or doesn't answer them. We must pray and speak and act to save our nation. With God's help, we might succeed. After reading Romans is God even on 'our' side any longer as so many have turned their back on the Creator.
