"Man is condemned to be free.
Condemned because he did not create himself,
yet is nevertheless at liberty, and
from the moment he is thrown into this world
he is responsible for everything he does."

Reader comments about this quote:
We are condemned to be anything when thrown into this world and indeed we are resposible for everything we do, but freedom is found from within and its means are simple; self-discipline, honor and kindness.

I guess its all in how you define condemnation. I believe I am more free than most and do not consider myself condemned. Responsibility, self-discipline, honor, and kindness are all part of true freedom.

Very realistic. For a prison and a condemnation, life isn't half bad. ;-) Most religious dogmas have similar interpretations of this temporal world.

    So, it boils down to

"Man is condemned to be responsible for everything he does."

    Who could argue?

Neutral and naturalistic statement. Negative frame of mind. But yes we are responsible for everything we do. If we do that which is good, we will have praise of the same. There is a hint of truth in the statement, but not condemnation, a sore travail given to men.

There is a small string of stand alone / non-related accuracies woven through a tapestry of nonsensical / inaccurate word salad. What is the substantive, lawful or otherwise correlating nexus that ties the individual man - ‘not creating himself’ to, condemnation, liberty and personal responsibility? There is NONE ! ! !

The components of life are not a condemnation. You are offered a challenge at the moment of conception. Very rare is that individual who accepts.
