Yes Whenever I get a remark that I am 'intelligent' there I hear an undertone of that being meant as for some 'cleverness-manipulative' !! And my immediate reaction has always been ' Whya cant' they term it as 'goodness' plain ??

The quy was a science fiction writer. How intelligent is that and doesn't that make him suspect.
     -- Waffler, Smith
The most dangerous man to any government is the man who can think for himself. They're completely safe from the Waffler's of the World.
     -- J Carlton, Calgary
A little too general, but correct far more often than not. It's the same with most extremes, too tall, too small and/or anything perceived outside the herd collective. Those choosing personal responsibility (inclusive of individual sovereignty, inalienable rights, law, justice, freedom and liberty) are viewed by the criminal Borg by "How intelligent is that and doesn't that make him suspect."

Most truths can be distilled down to either a single word or a single sentence. He should have used a comma after felony!

How the hell can you not give this five stars? It is so apparent we demonized any intelligent remark, suggestion, or criticism. Intelligence in Amerika is called socialism and liberalism. Look at Americas greats essayist, Gore Vidal, he is call every name under the sun and yet is our greatest living writer.

LOL, Waffler, you have demonstrated the quote perfectly (as well as your prideful ignorance). Obviously you have never read Heinlein or even science fiction. Brave New World, 1984 and Animal Farm were all fiction. You probably missed them, too, yeah, what do they know... Collectivists do not like inequality -- it is easier to dumb everyone down than to encourage excellence.
     -- E Archer, NYC
Robert, you answered your own question. To get five stars would here mean that it was correct all the time. Your example took it out of that realm. The quote was to all inclusively broad while making a great point.
     -- Mike, Norwalk
Waffler is a fantasy writer. I guess he thinks fantasy trumps Sci Fi. .
