for of whom a man is overcome,
of the same is he brought in bondage."

I have trouble understanding that. Here is another similar thought. It seems close to the meaning of the first, and more easily understood: Romans 6:16 Do you not know that when you present yourselves to someone as slaves for obedience, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin resulting in death, or of obedience resulting in righteousness? WOW!!! is this applicable to today's government; and, the further we stray from Nature's God, the greater the bondage. Merry Christmas and may the love of the Christ raise all to their full glorious potential.

Lord, help us all to recognize those false teachers and their false promises.

AIthough our ideas may differ widely on who those false teachers may actually be, I bet we are all in agreement that the Truth (whatever it may indeed be) is paramount in liberating ourselves.

It's interesting that his discipleship would not allow him to observe positive aspects from the Jesus "teacher." With his  quote, was he subconsciously referring to the Jesus fellow?
