I always wondered how a judge could instruct a jury not to consider something already heard in court.

One experience I had in Federal Court was; the judge wagged his finger at the jurors while sternly directing the jury to find the defendant guilty. The judge then went on as part of his instructions, telling the jury why they should find the defendant guilty. Upon getting the transcripts to build an appeal, we found the transcripts to be completely altered.
