What a guy! Usually when we pay something to someone the receipient is the person doing the work. Such is the case here! When is the last time you sat down and added up what you got from your government. I bet never. Reagan is the quintessential example of Senator John Danforth's dictum quoted the other day: "We (the politicians) have sold our soul's and nation into bankruptcy in order to get elected." Reagan buffaloed a lot of people and the memory of him still is, but such foolishness is the only way he could get into government. Lord knows he could never have passed a Civil Service Examination.

Truer than Reagan probably implied. Only federal employees are required to pay federal income taxes. But since most Americans have signed on for government benefits and emoluments, they are required to abide by the rules for government employees. In a common law republic, there are no compelled 'laws' that one must follow other than to respect one another's rights. We are however compelled to keep our word, and if we promise to pay the IRS 35% of our wages, we must keep our promise or face criminal penalties. This is the essential corruption of the 'law.'

Waffler, I see that you are still on top of that mountain where the air is thin. You may have not agreed with Reagan , but to think that Reagan was stupid is remarkably stupid on your part. He was even smart enough to get half the democrats to vote for him, twice.

He was a master Jim at deceiving the American people, that is not stupid, it is evil. And evil can be very intelligent. It is in the end the American people that were stupid. What do you call someone who gets into the kind of debt this nations government is in?

Well, let's take a look at the Reagan legacy on federal spending and deficits. In 1980, the last year of Jimmy Carter's presidency, government outlays were running at 21.7% of GDP and the budget deficit was 2.7% of GDP. (The economy was also a basket case, which is when you would expect budget deficits to be at their worse.) In 1988, Reagan's last year in office, outlays as a percent of GDP were running at 21.3% with a deficit of 3.1% of GDP. The budget deficit over Reagan's eight years averaged 4.2% and ran as high as 6.0% in 1983.

Reagan's here statement is one accurate layer of the onion. Opening wide all the layers is where another whole reality arrays and illuminates itself. In a land where the 2nd plank of the communist manifesto is imposed with maximum force, and property (real and chattel) treatment begins and ends with compelled extractions of worth, there is in such phenomenon, materiality, and fact a godly master with chattel slaves (given the title of "taxpayer" to lessen the chance of revolt).
