It is still so, even tho gov. regulation is increasingly eliminating the ability to farm all over western America. Food must be imported in greater amounts. What would happen should the US be unable to get food into the USA due to weather or other disaster for any length of time? What farmers that are left would be working double time (which farmers do already). Ranching and farming is being deemed 'unsustainable'...and a vegan diet is being considered as the only clear alternative in the USA, all in order to rewild America.  -- Abby      3

Let's not forget that farmers get a lot of subsidies from the government, which of course , is us. As an example, the government subsidizes dairy farmers by buying up huge amounts of cheese at inflated prices and you pay for it at the store.  -- Jim K, Austin      2
The Spiritual good achieved by way of the small farmer, battles the spiritual wickedness in high places, of industry. Once the farmers land was taxed and the crops became nationalized, labor for industry being pulled from the small farmer, by way of his family, destroying the family unit, so cherished, for so long. Farmer ranchers, as my family roots, destroyed. Jealousy set in, because of favor shown to the farmers left, tilling larger portions of land. splitting the family unit, in wanting for an education and leaving the farm, finding high taxes in the city life. Inheritance lost, taxed away. Rifts still in place. Now the farm, a place for the rich man from the city, having a mansion built, sitting on ground that no one works !
