J Carlton: Heaven forbid we have anyone "friendly to US interests" anywhere in the world. Things are much better under Obama: Egypt -- gone; turkey -- gone; Yemen -- almost gone; Libya -- gone; in fact, the entire Middle East -- gone (not that any of the regimes there were great, but they are bieng replaced with something much, much worse, thanks to the Muslinm-in-chief; -- David, Chattanooga, TN
David, wouldn't you prefer to think that people would be "friendly to US interests" due to the fact that we are honest in our dealings, and that those3 dealings would be beneficial to the parties involved, as opposed to installing dictatorships to force US ineterests on foreigners? I know I would. Try reading some of the history of western influence in the middle east and a book called "Confessions of an Economic Hit Man", you'll soon know what I'm talking about. Just another example of how the State attempts to keep us forever in fear. Which is worse: blowing up an airplane or constant government surveillance? I cannot understand why government employees are assumed to be more trustworthy than non-government workers. Isn't it a recognized truth that power corrupts and therefore government authority must be strictly limited? Today, ALL of us are considered suspects and the government beyond reproach -- how the hell did that happen?! The People MUST keep their government in check. The noodle-heads who think that the world is made up of sunshine and lollipops need to extract their craniums from ther rectums. These are the same people who think that 9/11 was a criminal act of a few nuts jobs; not an act of war, planned and executed by warriors of a Muslim warlord. GDub presided over a government whose Congress was predominately liberal Marxist sympathizers, whose unelected career government workers headed by a communist-inspired labor union, and a mostly under-educated electorate. These things alone would have toppled any president, yet, he perservered and succeeded under impossible conditions. I used to think we had installed a cross between Neville Chamberlain and Jimmy Carter in the White House, but now now it appears that the Bamster has a bit of Putin in him too - was not the most successful Russian oil company taken over by the govt on his watch? and the founders put ijn prison where they languish today.
