"No human has yet grasped 1% of what can be known about spiritual realities ... I grew up Presbyterian. Presbyterians thought the Methodists were wrong. Catholics thought all Protestants were wrong. The Jews thought the Christians were wrong. So, what I'm financing is humility. I want people to realize that you shouldn't think you know it all."

The thing I know is: The more I know, the more I know I don't know. AND, I whole heatedly grasp and understand , "No human has yet grasped 1% of what can be known about spiritual realities

Elihu , Arthur of the oldest book on the planet. Job 36 : 3, 4 Have you heard the saying far fetched ? not so ! I will fetch my knowledge from afar, and will ascribe righteousness to my Maker. For truly my words shall not be false : he that is perfect in knowledge is with thee. If you cannot point out the differences between the denominations it is because they do not want you to know ! Study to show yourself approved. Rightly dividing the word of truth. This also suppressed and denied the public. Jim there is always someone who gets it right. If this were not so, we would never have liberty and freedom !

Why is it that those that are so cock-sure are often so under-educated? The science is NEVER settled -- Galileo, Newton, Einstein, Hawking each discovered something the others did not. As knowledgeable as we are today, Life is as mysterious and the Universe is as unknown as it has ever been. And religion is but a 'primer' -- we have no more uncovered the workings of Heaven today than over the last 10,000 years.

Fear of God's wrath and judgement -- as meted out by a particular religion's zealots -- is what props up most religions. The power-hungry have always been attracted to religion and politics, and the common man is as easily yoked and bound as he has ever been. The ruling class thrives by making 'empty promises' periodically defended by their private armies.

The Truth indeed will set you free. ;-)

God uses base things to confound the wise. That is what insults most intellectuals.

"Truth" will always manifest itself where and when it's genuinely sought. It's very much a personal experience. To try to capture this in philsophical or theological terms is essentially futile. Because its manifestation requires personal engagement no person can truly give the truth to anyone. The best that can be done is instructions on how to best position and prepare oneself to seek the truth.

The great thing about the truth, is it comes with a ruler. Gods provides the rule. The flip side is God is not a respecter of persons. Like in school two things are done with the ruler, one to measure with, the other to be spanked with.

Ron, that is laughable (pretend I filled the page with haha). You can only measure what you perceive.

Again that is your translation, and true for you, My truth is something completely different and you have no right, in any philosophical or theological sense, to impose your truth on me.

L Hanson, not intending to get in between you and Ron w13, I was wondering about your comment; "you have no right, . . . to impose your truth on me". From your writings over the years, philosophically and theologically you are a socialist, hard core supporting compelled compliance, license, victimless crimes etc. Why then, is it OK for you to impose your truth on others and not the other way around ?
