The socialists/fascists - liberals/conservatives - democrats/republicans have all but destroyed this most fundamental of all Constitutional principles in their political endeavors. Can anyone remember when governmentally compelled compliance, victimless crime, or license were non-existent or at least the exception not the rule? The Constitution is not living, it is all but dead; long live the Constitution and the Republic for which is stood.

Individuality....the root of everything good? I don't know aboutthat.I don't think individuality is the root of everything good. LOVE IS THE ROOT OF EVERYTHING GOOD.

Our government wants everyone to be equal and average. Only problem is people are NOT equal and average.

I think it is meant in a Ayn Randian sort of way--that until the individual is self empowered they cannot LOVE.

Love emanates from the individual or not at all -- there is no collective love other than the combined love of the individuals within it. Goodness rests with the individual -- always has, always will. There is no corporate love or corporate good will.

Choice rests with the individual, who chooses, good or bad. What some individuals produce is good. Others produce bad. Individuality is always to be preserved, and respected whenever it produces good; whenever it produces bad, it is to be rebuked, instructed, corrected, prevented, or otherwise dealt with, according to the severity and circumstances.
     -- David L. Rosenthal

Uh---isn't radical individualism what got us in this mess anyway? I mean, if everyone is a law unto themselves with no respect for anyone but themselves, and they will not tolerate any form of restraint on their basest drives...well...sorry, can't say individualism is the root of all good... Sadly, some individuals you just can't let have their way.
     -- Rip V Winkle

While individuality is grand, it is hardly the root of all good...

Individuality = Freedom. Freedom is the ability to choose between good and evil, right and wrong, moralility and immorality. It is the freedom to choose to be charitable or greedy. Anyone who is not allowed to be an individual, or is under some collective control, is not being allowed to be fully human. Individuality bounded by morality is essential to anything good.

Great quote - surely influenced by Voltaire.... Sorry, Reston, must disagree with you on this one. It's the essence of the thought that matters....

OK Mike, KINDNESS IS THE ROOT OF EVERYTHING GOOD...

" The Sovereign Individual " Befitting for the day, HAVE MERCY upon me, O God. Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts : and in the hidden part thou shalt Make me to know wisdom. Restore unto me the joy of thy Liberty; and uphold me with thy Free Spirit. There are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of the Lord, that shall stand. The desire of a man is his kindness: and a poor man is better than a liar. Smite a scorner, and the simple will beware: and reprove one that has understanding, and he will understand Knowledge. ( Themelioo, rooted and grounded in knowledge, to lay a foundation ) of love. The Spirit of Liberty passes knowledge, the Peace of God passes understanding, that we may be able to comprehend with all sons and daughters of Liberty what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height, ( A reference to the universe ), that we might be filled with all the fullness of God. This foundation is an appointment ( Muwcaddah ) . The voice of the Lord God shall be heard. And by the voice of God shall the enemy be beaten down ! We have a grounded staff, and in battles of shaking we do fight with it. And I have put my words in thy mouth, and I have covered the in the shadow of mine hand, that I may plant the Heavens, and lay the foundations of the earth, and say unto Liberty, thou art my people. Saad al Melik , Saad al Sund , Scheat. and perhaps most of all ( Sabr, who returns as in a circle ). The Stars and bars, 13 steps to climb that one may come to understand the application of the Stars. There are two veils in the Temple. God Bless, Amen

True to Core Archer, I count all things but lose, for the Excellency of the Knowledge of the Truth, this is also termed ( Manifold Wisdom ) which resides from Above. The veil was torn from Top to bottom, this by the hand of God. literally, Subjective fact.
