the state governments will in all possible contingencies afford complete
security against invasions of the public liberty by the national authority."

Clever and flattering words coming from a man who sought the abolition of states' rights.

State governments begging for "federal money" make this a joke.

This particular original intent would have held true if each of the now 50 nations would have been true to themselves, remained representatives of We The People, in face of adversity remained the primary sovereign protection of We The People, and simply - not sold out.

    Doesn't sound like a federalist.

State governments standing in the school house door made this a joke. City corruption in some states made this a joke. The corruption caught and prosecuted by the FBI and US Attorneys were the watch dogs not the states.
     -- Waffler, Smith
  •
And now corruption in the federal government has made what little is left a laughingstock. It's time to hit the reset button.

States protecting their own sovereignty and rights for their people? After the ill-conceived 17th amendment that went out the window!
     -- Mike, Pleasant Hill

Now we have to have the people use State Nullification's in order to get back their 10th Amendment protections from the courts who overstep their powers.

It is impossible to maintain sovereignty without control of their own currency. Once the sovereign States were compelled to turn over all their gold (!!) in exchange for interest-bearing debt, the fix was in, and the perpetual bankruptcy of the republic was sealed. Unfortunately, Hamilton was instrumental in bringing about the first of several national banks that plunged the federal government into unpayable debt.

You are so right Mr. Archer.

Waffler, the occupying statist theocracy infesting this land is ANTI: individual sovereignty, inalienable rights, liberty and de jure constitutional law. Which of your referenced theocratic corporations or derivatives thereof are now acting as watch dogs, prosecuting the corruption of the unconstitutional compelled compliance, government licenses, victimless crimes or illicit larceny (2nd plank of the ccomunist manifesto, Social Security, police state confiscations, etc.)?

Most state issues have been usurped by the federal government and the people have been ignorant of their own laws of the land. America will only survive if complete turn around to original constitutional law is returned to this nation. This will likely never happen as people in general believe their government means them no harm when that is the furthest thing from the truth...those in the federal government have 2 interests: power and money...at taxpayers expense. Today, if anyone wished to take a look at a score card of who in Congress adheres to his/her Oath of Office they will find it is less than 10% of the people they elected. Sadly, the people re-elect these same miscreants for years on end proving the old adage that we (the people) get the government we deserve. There are many score cards available to those who search, but the only one that bases the scores on adherence to the US Constitution, which all gov. employees swear an Oath to support and defend is found in the Freedom Index put out by New American magazine. There may be others, but I have yet to locate one. So the quote is great. The congressional adherence sucks.
