Coming from an honest human being, the words would have significant meaning, but knowing Novzier what it means is the freedom of the powerful to lord it over the weak is more important than the little security needed for a decent life for others.

Once again, I wish people would start rating the quote, not the man who said it.

The term and terms of 'security' necessarily do have a factor of 'binding'... and as such is antithetical to 'freedom'.... Freedom speaks of a state wherein the individual human is 'in the world but not all of the world'....

What makes ANYONE think we don't need BOTH -- freedom and security ? The Nazi's had security but no Freedom and I'd guess a similar situation exists with Islam. The U.S. had Freedom but no Security -- and Pearl Harbor happened. GOT TO HAVE BOTH OR YOU'RE IN TROUBLE !!

Opposed to the metrification of the USA, as also myself and many others, seeing the methodical march of the enemy within our own nation, Socialist at heart and a mindset from across the pond ! But now, more than ever before, always on watch, the Leadership of the just, as also our enemy. security starts at home. There is no security from trails of affliction. "Correction of instruction is the way of life " Do that which is right and you will have praise of the same. Do that which is wrong, surly correction will come.

Once again the issue is clarified when put into proper perspective: who is responsible for my freedom and security?

What are we trying to secure if not first and foremost our lives, liberty, and property? All the rest is gravy if we so choose to share rather than tax our neighbors. Each of us are ultimately responsible for defending ourselves -- when we band together to protect each other as well, we become a force. That force is kept in check only by the individuals from whom that force originates. We have not delegated or waived our responsibilities, we have merely agreed to fund group projects voluntarily -- it is in our mutual best interest. When the collective power can be kept within its proper bounds, there you will find as good a security as you can ever expect in this world.
