True enough. While the U.S. is not completely a police state , we are headed that way. In 1970, Nixon ramped up this thing we call the "War on Drugs". It's cost billions, filled our jails and has only made matters worse, much worse. Under assest forfeiture laws, cops can take your property and not even charge you with a crime. It's done every day and it's all done because of this "War on Drugs". For more information, go to LEAP.cc.

I believe the statement is saying that a fully functioning police state can only exist where the people are sufficiently brainwashed that they are sympathetic to and, actively support malefactors, comprehending neither freedom or liberty. When the police state is fully functional ("And the people shall be oppressed, every one by another, and every one by his neighbor, the child shall behave himself proudly against the ancient, and the base against the honorable." (Isaiah 3:5)) neighbors, by example, will stop an individual from painting their home or starting a small business in it without direct standing army (police) intervention. In a large part, the US exemplifies the quote (there are still those advocates of Mr. Obamunist Goodwrench - the assassin and the statist theocracy that infests this nation) by their active support of an ever increasing compelled compliance, license, victimless crimes, larceny with impunity, funny money, and all other forms of despotism and tyranny.

Unfortunately, this is true. This quote should wake people up to the absolute security that liberal Progressives believe is the ideal condition of life. A police state like Cuba supposedly has no crime because every movement and action of the people is known by the government. What the proponents of a police state don't take into consideration is human nature. If there is a will, there is a way, and humans will always find a way. A police state can only exist under a dictatorship, but the liberal Progressives won't tell you this. If they did, people would never agree to being under a police state. Liberals have to lie and be decietful or their plans would never be agreed to by a sane and educated population. You should always remember that, to liberal progressives, lying is only a means to an end, and any means justifies the ends. Absolute security is absolute loss of freedom.

"No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms," Thomas Jefferson. If we preserve nothing else, we must never allow the government to confiscate our personal arms. Armed, Americans are citizens; unarmed, Americans become subjects, i.e., under a police state.

Such Utopian dreams can never happen. There will always be a percentage of outlaws and control-freaks. The goal is to keep them away from seats of power.

Hell's increase by 87,000 is another element proving the quote's accuracy.

A fully functional system needs no police because it is being operated by fully certified adults. The present system is clearly being run by a child's mentality evidenced by the fact that residents run about trying to incarcerate each other in a sick game of last one not incarcerated "wins."  Adults simply don't do prisons. Adults trust each other and can be trusted. Adults simply function.

Sillik, pre-war between the States, local police were feared and considered a standing army against We The People's individual sovereignty, inalienable rights and liberty at the laws of nature and of nature's God getting their orders from foreign despots. It was only a decade or two before the war of Northern aggression that socialists implemented police departments (such as New York, Boston, Philadelphia and Atlanta) in a few major cities to experiment what they could get away with. Today's standing armies of totalitarian despots enforce unconstitutional compelled compliance, victimless crimes, government licenses and larceny with impunity (2nd plank of the communist manifesto, funny money, police state confiscations, etc.).
