True. It's happening now. Good people, do not sit idly by and do nothing. Turn the ship back to her moral compass.

Isn't this a modern condensation of "At what point shall we expect the approach of danger? By what means shall we fortify against it?-- Shall we expect some transatlantic military giant, to step the Ocean, and crush us at a blow? Never!--All the armies of Europe, Asia and Africa combined, with all the treasure of the earth (our own excepted) in their military chest; with a Buonaparte for a commander, could not by force, take a drink from the Ohio, or make a track on the Blue Ridge, in a trial of a thousand years. __ At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer, if it ever reach us, it must spring up amongst us. It cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen, we must live through all time, or die by suicide." __ -- Abraham Lincoln. Address Before the Young Men's Lyceum of Springfield, Illinois. January 27, 1838

We should never forget that someone somewhere is trying to acquire power within our nation, and that it never ends. We must remember that our Consitution was written to protect us from the ambitions of the rich and powerful who use their influence to centralize more and more power into their hands. In America, the Federal Reserve is the cartel that has taken over the US government and is ever squeezing the life-blood of the People into their cups. For every dollar we are in debt, they are in the black. Lincoln had to fight the banks then, too, and it is the same today except the banks effectively took over with the Federal Reserve Act and FDR's raw deal. America will not disappear, it will just be living in a dream world. When we are ready to take the needle out of our arm, we can be free.

Cap and Trade passed. 219-212. Now all we can put hope in are the 10th Amendment movements. Yes we're rotting from the inside out.

The statement is great, just like was/is the man it came from. And as long as the Constitution is not destroyed, we will not destroy ourselves.

I think that President Lincoln was completely dead on with this quote. America was founded on the basic principles of liberty and justice. Principles so strong, they can only be destroyed from the inside out. Today, obama and the liberals are trying to do just that, slowly take away Americans' freedoms in exchange for power. Hopefully, our freedoms will not be taken away.

Lincoln was incredibly prescient. I wish this site would run his quote reagarding instituting a permanent income tax. It was something to the effect - Here I paraphrase him - " We must never enact a permanent income tax because were we to do so it would engender swarms of accountants and regulators across the nation such as we today cannot imagine." 1863?

can you tell me exactly how obama and the liberals are trying to take our freedoms when its trump sending in the jack boot thugs agaist freedom of assembly
     -- Robert, northwest GA
  •
Robert, concerning the latest current affairs; starting an EXTREMELY ! ! ! terse list, freedom lost due to liberal action is: lock-downs, mandated masks, enslaving expansion and over reach of the 10th plank of the communist manifesto, increased threat to the 2nd Amendment, freedom of assembly / church / religion's non-allowance (while terrorists are unchecked during such hateful malefactor's burning bibles), freedom to choose medicines that will prevent or cure the current plandemic and freedom of expression throughout the MSM, etc., etc., etc.; AND, freedom of assembly does NOT include terrorists torching property or people being molested or the killing of people and commerce, etc.

The probability of this quote is false is quite high because President Lincoln was not acquainted with the terrible terroristic Hollywood type beings with their  low regard for life, bragging about how many they killed in the latest movie venture. These Hollywood personnel are just  terrible role models for the young who desperately desire, as it appears, to be among them. How misguided our societal arrangement is being misrepresented by these entrainment sickos. We need real humans.
