What a bag. He should be prosecuted for conspiracy to commit civil rights violations.

The process is, give it a name, define the new name as different than what originally was, create stories to support the intended law breaking, get a few experts to back you up, get the media and schools on board and poof, a little bending never hurt anyone.

Makes me wonder how far "shall not be infringed" is being bent today in 2008.

Sounds like what we do at tax time. Would be nice to know more of the context, whether he was complaining about the bending or bragging about it. Since it is unclear I will not rate it.

Don't you just love it when folks who don't know which end of a gun the bullet comes out of want to ban "assault weapons". This is a sneaky way of getting a foot in the door since they never define the term and almost any rifle or shotgun can be called an "assault weapon". Just ask one of these 2nd ammendment haters to define an "assault weapon" and , of course, they can't do it. An "assault weapon" will be any gun that the Brady bunch wants to ban.

I am giving Rahm one star only for his audacity to bend the law. While he is at it, would he also please bend the law to unequivocally prosecute anyone in power that tires to take away individual liberty in this country as provided by its founding fathers.

RKA has a point -- there are never any personal penalties dispensed to those who have voted into existence an unconstitutional law that does in fact violate the lives and liberty of the people. Imagine how many murders might never have been committed if DC hadn't banned weapons. The same folks who have been told their ban is unlawful are now trying again with a different wording but with the same effect (i.e. making it a crime to have weapons for defense). They should be charged with treason immediately and let them defend themselves in court, not We The People. The penalty for debasing the currency is death -- if that is the case, we are going to need a LOT of rope.

The "we" in this case is probably a bunch of lawyers turned politician...both are scum who want more for themselves and less for everybdy else...."by law". The fact is democracy simply doesn't work. Its Mob Rule in a cheap suit. I'll go Libertarian every time.

Fantastic!!! if you are corrupt and ignore the Constitution!Another example of a far left politician ignoring the Constitution and running his own program as he see's fit!! He should be tried for treason, all property seized and his immediate family should be imprisooned for life. After he gets a fair trial of course!

When the obamastapo jack boots kick in your door to seize your guns and ammo then you'll know what the Constitution was about.
