to make up for the freedom of thought
which they avoid."

I agree with Kierkegaard. The more people make reflexions and explore deep inside, they will be more obligued to face patterns, parents, friends, authority, etc. It is not easy, but hard. On the other hand making the irresponssible use of the word does not seem to have any consequence, at least in the right moment. Nietzsche said the words are not enough to descirbe everything. There will be more details which are not seen, besides ( I think ) the facility to say whatever without thinking, at least in my country.

    Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large numbers. These are the voters that continue to re-elect the people in Washington that have ruined our economy. Instead of going to jail, they retire from "public service" in style.

    Is that what's going on? All us unthinking people are sitting idly while less powerful people murder us off the face of the planet, merely because we choose to ignore what there is to think about that might certify our survival and joy in prosperity? I think not. I realize mighty power heaved on murderous idiots that will follow their leaders to the grave, if not arrive there ahead of their leaders, leading in that one aspect of their life. The masses are not unaware, we're outgunned and by far wielding lesser cunning and murderous resignation. Beyond that and money, mostly any common man is match for any elite and only the elite of the elite have any clue of anything, even they too heavily murderous to acquire their sure survival, history having recorded their all passing to dust; All but 1, the fleshy man god, the emperor, massive identity thieve since many millennium past. I conceive the possibility of that influence being extinguished and there after all men live in peace with love and justice. Horribly though I realize the probability, considering history, that such Utopic reality is a world that won't be seen until the great distant future. But that won't be because humanity was too stupid to realize who the offensive were, more so it'll be because they were born to situations hopeless to but dent the infrastructure and nudge the momentum of the space dominant Empire.

    I think Daniel has just demonstrated the veracity of this quote... Blame 'the elite.' How about being a bit more specific. And am I to understand from Daniel's post and also in a previous one that he believes there is a 'man' who is the emperor of the world and has been alive for a thousand years, maybe more? Hmm, I suppose that means that if mankind were not under the thumb of some alien shape-shifter all would be well. Focus, Daniel, and you may yet identify the real enemy instead of simplistic generalizations about class conflicts. It is the SYSTEM that is the culprit that allows numerous murdering 'elites' to fill seats of power generation after generation. It is not about eating the rich, it is about INTEGRITY and HONOR in living this life. Avoiding responsibility is the cause of lost freedom and oppression.

    Here's another quote from our dear Sren Kierkegaard:

    'There are two ways to be fooled.
    One is to believe what isn't true;
    the other is to refuse to believe what is true.'

    Enjoy!

    Cheers
