"If welfare and equality are to be primary aims of law, some people must necessarily possess a greater power of coercion in order to force redistribution of material goods. Political power alone should be equal among human beings; yet striving for other kinds of equality absolutely requires political inequality."

Not to focus too narrowly...but isn't wealth redistribution a tool of communism? I suppose the upshot is that we end up "equally miserable and equally destitute".

Welfare and material goods equality endeavors by political power is diametrically opposed to law. As evidence, every time it is pursued poverty, pain, despotism, tyranny, loss of inalienable rights and war results. 5 + stars for the recognition of the cause of political inequality.

True.  Therein lies the rub whenever our rulers propose sacrificing our liberty for a promise of security.  Never forget that protecting your liberty is the ONLY security you really need!  Once you become a serf, forever beholden to the authorities, there is no road back  other than revolution.  Our forefathers have already paid that price.  Americans must preserve their republic and the principles upon which it is founded  the rest of the world depends on it.
