in matters of taste, swim with the current."

I like it a lot. A "principle" is a basic moral or ethical standard derived from fundamental truths at the law of nature and of natures God - all that which concerns the functioning of natural phenomena. The principle remains the same no matter mans relationship thereto or definition thereof. In matters of taste (applied legal order to that which is fashionably in vogue) a change is as good as a vacation ;-)

The reason we are now overrun with people who eschew principles is because principles restrict movement to small adjustments limited to what can be done for comfort while remaining in place. They tolerate no populist poppycock, no politically correct bullying and no flipping and flopping about on issues. Mr. Jefferson would find few in any level of elected office or business leadership to respect these days.

cal is right. And to think that we've come all the way down from Jefferson to Obama. What's even worse, democrats are now faced with a choice between Hillary and Bernie.

Without moral integrity, there could never be a sound Structure to stand on. Remember the Rock and those 13 moral laws of honesty. Liberty was founded upon such a Rock of understanding. KJB

It is such a loss that we no longer have the courage to hold these ideas near and dear to our hearts. We need to remember that these are the ideas that took humans to higher levels. These ideas remain relevant thereby making it necessary for us to think upon them regularly.
