Suffice it to say, America does not have a wise or frugal government. Of course, Americans are dumbed down so much they just don't care.

The current non-wise/frugal government now restrains, and injures the otherwise free while regulating the demise of industry and improvement

Absolutely! Although, Jefferson was just a greedy-money-hungering-bastard who didn't know a thing about how an individual should declare his unalienable rights and indpenedence from and unwise and spend-happy government. Ah, the irony.

Our government is not frugal, creating laws to protect us from ourselves and every other potential problem, both real and imagined. I'd love to be free to regulate my own pursuits without government telling me how to do it and why I can't.

You guys are awesome! (PS: I think Reston must surely be faking it...NO BODY could be so far left that they are in the realm of the simple minded--could they?)

This is a good description of the ideal government. Unfortunately, men make up the government.

I think we are getting closer and closer to one of TJ's other quotes, I.E. "The tree of liberty" cuz revolution may be the only way to unseat those corrupt, brainwashing, pompous, career politicians! And that's the only way to really allow capitalism to thrive! Not everyone from Boston is a liberal!

Just one more issue that is lost on Pres. Obama. Jefferson, Adams, Franklin, Madison, Washington, et al, are fortunate indeed, that they are not here to witness the destruction of our country from within by a socialist president. Look closely and you'll see that compacency by US citizenry has brought us here. The federal government is the root cause of all of our economic woes; they created the corporate environment that so many wish to blame. Dig a little and you'll find I speak the truth.

Don't blame Obama for the destruction of the country, the last 5 presidents have been mere tools for the globalist authoritarian government. The system has been rigged for a long time -- it doesn't matter who is in the Oval Office, as long as the REAL power remains in the hands of the real rulers pulling the strings, keeping the people fighting among themselves while the system sucks the lifeblood from the citizenry. All the while, we get our daily soma mixed with the minute of hate in which we yell 'bomb em!' when we see bearded guys in turbins on the boob tube. The battle will ultimately be between those that are completely dependent upon the system versus those that actually produce more than they consume. Blame the willful ignorance of the people -- because they certainly have been warned enough -- even now, and they merely plug along furthering their own mutual oppression of all. ;-) What's the solution? Blame somebody else!! Then bomb 'em ...
