"Under the constitution, there was never meant to be a federal police force. Even an FBI limited only to investigations was not accepted until this century. Yet today, fueled by the federal government’s misdirected war on drugs, radical environmentalism, and the aggressive behavior of the nanny state, we have witnessed the massive buildup of a virtual army of armed regulators prowling the States where they have no legal authority. The sacrifice of individual responsibility and the concept of local government by the majority of American citizens has permitted the army of bureaucrats to thrive."

The police gradually getting to be 'for the government and versus the citizens' seems to have gone unjustifiably general the world over... thus virtually denying any 'ready' poice-help for the citizens per se. vedapushpa social anthropologist Bangalore

How about some civil disobedience? Our bloated federal government of thugs is un-American. Elect Ron Paul, Herman Cain, or Tim Pawlenty in 2012!

What people seem to miss is that this all fomented by the owners of the Federal Reserve. The Globalists are coming...

Amen to all of the above.

My fear is that our step in to the land of "Homeland Security" will turn very ugly for most Americans.

There was a quote that I barely remember that went something like this.
"Necessity is the plea for every infringement of human freedom. It is the argument of tyrants; it is the creed of slaves."- William Pitt

Machiavelli 101, create a problem then milk it for all it's worth and when the people clamor for a solution offer them the one you had previously prepared that they would've never excepted if not for the contrived crisis.
Lord, grant our people the wisdom to see they are being led to slaughter!

The police need the criminals and the criminals need the police. The good man needs the fair ruling of law, not possible with a police state. Socialism is the challenge of social abilities to create law and order.

Sillik, or should I refer to you by your appropriate nick name  Oscar Myer; you are so full of bologna, you can't step completely out of your false religion. By example, socialism is the anti-law police state.

The FBI has never even attempted vain claiming an "Enabling Act" to formalize its/their position as a government entity. Under no actionable Constitutional law / principle / etc. is the FBI a legitimate government agency.

I've worked with attorneys concerning the IRS in court (an enabling act, contract or otherwise), where the IRS has stipulated to NOT being a government entity — but, SO WHAT, they said they were only there to assist the prosecutor. There is an Enabling Act for a "Secretary" of the Internal Revenue Service — BUT, — there is NO! mention of an organization or duty for what the IRS is now doing. The IRS that now unconstitutionally infests this land was once (still is) a Puerto Rico entity that was contracted to the U.S. That contract has long since expired.

Mike, Norwalk we have an ample supply of mentally ill creatures moving around with badges and firearms, the rest of most the population are trouble making instigators vigilantes with their firearms ever ready, I say the present state is a police state, and besides me there are no Socialists. Who else, and same old question arrives, make claims to Socialism other than me, and may I add Socialist do not do firearms. I simply say I am the Socialist because no one will claims equality with me. That doesn't mean I have enemies, just mentally ill dangerous acquaintances.

I'm curious, Fred, in your utopian Socialist world that creates law and order, how will that order be enforced if not by police or some other armed authority?  There is not a single socialist state in the world that does not reserve arms for the state and restrict them from the populace.  Socialism cannot be established without force  period.
