My sincere wish is that the common American will learn the roots and causes of totalitarianism -- the sacrifice of the individual to the crown, emperor, council, state, government, 'authority', etc.. We think of Nazis as killers of the Jews, yet all the while beg the State to copy everything out of the Nazi playbook that preceded the genocide. Perhaps this bodes well for the failure of socialism in America — the progressives are consumed by identity politics, ever trying to prop up the appropriating of an identity contrary to one's biology. Rather than immersing themselves in the crowd, they insist on being singled out for celebrating their identity. some Americans may be embracing socialism, but they can't seem to stop making it about 'me.' -- E Archer, NYC
