"We ask that government undertake the obligation above all of providing citizens with adequate opportunity for employment and earning a living. The activities of the individual must not be allowed to clash with the interests of the community, but must take place within the confines and be for the good of all. Therefore, we demand: ... an end to the power of financial interest. We demand profit sharing in big business. We demand a broad extension of care for the aged. We demand ... the greatest possible consideration of small business in the purchases of the national, state, and municipal governments. In order to make possible to every capable and industrious [citizen] the attainment of higher education and thus the achievement of a post of leadership, the government must provide an all-around enlargement of our system of public education.... We demand the education at government expense of gifted children of poor parents.... The government must undertake the improvement of public health -- by protecting mother and child, by prohibiting child labor -- by the greatest possible support for all groups concerned with the physical education of youth. [W]e combat the ... materialistic spirit within and without us, and are convinced that a permanent recovery of our people can only proceed from within on the foundation of The Common Good Before the Individual Good."

This so enticing as you read it, until you recognize the source and the havoc that ensued. I wonder how many Americans would sign up for this if the source were hidden? As a friend was always delighted to remind me, "Never forget that you can fool all of the people some of the time."

I think that this goes to show that FDR was indeed a fascist along with Hitler and Mussolini as America has never turned off this road after the New Deal. It is time we started addressing the fact that the US has become a fascist state and if we don't do something drastic very very soon, history has already served as a guide for what the future will bring... wake up, America, before it is too late!!

This could easily be compared to today's political parties that are dragging us slowly to One World Fascism. The next civil war will be between We The People and...everyone else.

You can fool some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time, and that usually is enough. It was enough two years ago at election time.

This was said like the governments today does, then once in and the door is lock and all hell is let loose. Love it! propaganda at its best. If this was today's agenda I would vote for this man but it was said to garner support - and now we have an inverted form of that same speech.

A perfect example of the law of unintended consequences. I think it's interesting that in the comments this quote garnered either a 0 or a 5 but that every comment itself is pretty much in agreement. I'm assuming the 5 stars simply refer to the fact that here is proof in writing that our fears are well founded about this current administration and the direction our country is headed. I'm sure there are others out there who'd give it five stars because they would actually agree with the philosophy, as long as the source was unknown. It would indeed be interesting to put the quote out there on, for example, MSNBC, without the source and see where the comments went then.

Sounds like a speech from His Lordship Sir Obama, which has fooled most of the people! In bad times there are too many of us willing to except anything put in front of our faces (desperate people in desperate times). Germany was in just that time, where a loaf of bread took a wheelbarrow of money. A man can along and promise them everything they wanted and we all know where that got them. Remember there is a sucker born every min. We all need to educate the people around us, so i give this 5 stars because of the wake up call and the warning it should give us all !

Addendum to J. B. Wuff & Jim, K. You can fool some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time, but you can't fool all of the people all of the time. But if you can fool them just once...it's good for four year.

I think this quote is excellent. If I had not seen that it had been written by the Socialist Party in 1920, I would have thought it was from Obama, goes to show you how close we are from communism.

The Nazi party is the very definition of tyranny and its leader, Hitler, is the poster child of evil. To adopt socialism is to embrace their motto and follow their precedence. The fact that this nation is even considering such mockery is insult to the heroes that paid the ultimate price to bring this evil empire to justice.

The scary part is that American youth have been indoctrinated for several generations now that the NAZI party platform sounds normal. 'What other purpose for government is there,' they ask?

The foremost frailty of Utopians is their constitutional inability to perceive themselves in the light of Reality.

Characteristically, they exist in states of full and free flight from Reality, particularly from the reality of their own venality.

Denying, as they do, the actuality of their personal venality, they unfailingly nurture fanciful notions of the possibility of the perfection of human nature, and of societies, by necessary extension, by means of the use of what ineluctably prove to be devices of totalitarian social engineering.

In their pride and ideology suffused ideation, Reality does not reside.

" He that speaks truth shows forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit. The Lip of Truth shall be established forever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment. Lying lips are abomination to the Lord: but they that deal truly are his delight. Righteousness exalts a Nation: but sin is a reproach to any people." Words from our Creator. in closing with an echoing sentiment, " He that tills his land shall be satisfied with bread: but he that follows vain persons is Void of Understanding. " A good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children. This is The Declarative and Constitutional intent of our Forefathers.

To Patrick Henry, in Red Hill: THANK YOU for that wonderfully excellent quote - which I copied to my favorite quotes pages!

I cannot decide whether this nazi/utopian platform was written by "the people" (I doubt it) or The Party (my guess); to me, it seems as though The Party took full advantage of the dire situation, and their powermongers crafted this wily address, in order to wield the gauntlet of tyranny.

The parallels with our modern Democrat philosophy and its anti-American constituency are truly staggering to comprehend, how repugnant to find so many millions of brainwashed ignorami, ready to kill the Constitution and its followers, so they can revel in the self-delusional practice of relinquishing their sovereignty - and ours as well - to The State!

I agree with other commenters: CRICKETS TODAY FROM THE LEFT, who read here plainly how they are today's nazis in full unabashed socialist regalia; and yes - we appear to be headed for an eventual war against these irreverent dupes (and despotic govt) who intend to sell America out to the NWO.

THIS QUOTE NEEDS TO BE FORWARDED TO ALL - ESPECIALLY TO THE LEFTIES WHO PROMULGATE THIS MADNESS ONCE AGAIN, FOR WONT OF A WORKING COMPREHENSION, OR RESPECT OF HISTORY.

    Five Stars to the Editor!!!
    INCREDIBLE, AND TRUE

Face it  this is the platform of the Democratic Party, period.  In fact, the Democrats have even more on their list for totalitarian control of the people, their energy, their labor, money, and power, their bodies, the 'environment' (i.e. the world), population control (massive depopulation is wanted), weather control (because of climate change, right?)  you name it!  There is no limit to the progressive agenda of complete subservience to the State and its Supreme Leader.  Moses smell the roses!!
