"America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold:
its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life.
If we can undermine these three areas,
America will collapse from within."

Reader comments about this quote:
I think this is almost prophetic considering what has happened in the USA these last forty-five years or so. The erosion of Americans' patriotism, morality and spiritual life all began in the 1960s with the protests over the war in Vietnam, the anti-establishment (hippie) movement and the 1963 Supreme Court case that removed prayer from schools. (Note: Atheist, Madalyn Murray O'Hair, originally brought that case against her son's, school. That son, Bill became a Christian years ago and leads a Christian foundation that helps oppressed Christians in Russia and elsewhere.) Things have only gotten worse since then with the rise of the practice and widespread acceptance of sex outside of marriage, abortion, homosexual behavior and pornography. The more we abandon the standards of the Bible and the one, true God who created us, the greater chaos we bring upon our country and ourselves. The founders of this great country based our laws on Judeo-Christian principles. But, these are being challenged every day by the ACLU and others who work for one nation under MAN, instead of one nation under God. If they succeed in erradicating God's laws from our lives, we will witness our own demise and ultimately be ruled by tyrants.

Don't know that its so prophetic as it is a simple study of natural law through history. The US founders discovered natural law through Judeo-Christian history but it can be equally found through most major religions teachings and experiences. Logan explained this very well just the other day. I happen to be very Christian in belief (probably not so much in action) and understand how those laws promote charity, love of fellow man, prosperity for all, patriotism, morality, and spirituality. To pass codes, rules, ordinances, statutes, etc contrary to law fulfills Stalin's aspirations. Democracy, fascism, malefactor oligarchies, and all other forms of despotism and tyranny are recognized when America's originally principled patriotism, morality, and spirituality are subdued.

Had generally known that Stalin was an evil man and this shows him to be also hightly intelligent and incisive. For him to want to collapse healthy bodies is sick indeed. I disagree that he was prophetic, after all it is his empire that crumpled not ours and I guess from the grave he would admit that it was Americas healthy body of patriotism, morality, and spirtual life that did him in.

He ought to know -- he killed millions of his own people after their own patriotism, families, and spiritual lives were weakened. It is gradually happening in the US. It all starts with the idea that the individual is subservient to the mob.

The only thing I want to know concerns E.K., the first respondant. Why do you think the VNam protests eroded patriotism, morality and spiritual life? I am so right-wing I'm off the scale, and I think those protests were VERY patriotic (in principle, but NOT by the NVA-flagwaving leftist bunch), and were against an immoral war. Stalin would be proud of how DC kept us in that useless, pointless war, run mostly by McNamara, who wrote that he was a computer guy who didn't have a clue of what he was doing.

Patriotism, morality, and spiritual life. The 3 basic building blocks shoring up the truth of freedom WITH responsibility, Spirituality is the first attack resulting in loss of faith in ones creator, No creator-no morality, and no morality creates limp wristed lip service patriots who are useless to all who are striving to right the injustice in the U.S, today. Our forefathers reminded us of this over and over and the controlled media suppressed it jst as fast as they said it. The enemies of America know that they can't destroy her by force of arms. We are much too powerful. We can only be destroyed from within. So then it is up to us to determine our own future. Will we remain morally strong, or will we crumble? We were built on the backs of our fathers who were honorable, noble, and moral. We owe it to them to be the same type of people, as well as owing it to future generations to give them the same quality of life that we have enjoyed.

Having survived a communist regime for 17 years, this quote of Stalin is the most benign comparing to the many other demonic words and deeds he implemented on millions of people in my country, by proxy. So,those of you who are demanding the proof of this quote being said by Stalin, I do not wish you to experience communism ever, so I suggest you read more. Stalin's words are just a piece of cake compared to his brutality from the pit of hell. If you want more of what he said or done, it can be arranged, but prepare for humility as you will never be the same again. A communist survivor.

The quote is true, whether it can be attributed to Stalin I do not know. What difference does it make who said it ... we know it is true by looking at history. That is exactly what Communists have done in many countries, and the result has been devastating to the people. WHY would anyone want to turn to a system that repeatedly fails, where people are treated like cattle, where there is poverty and misery .... when they have the example of America .... where freedom and success abound to the vast majority? To keep such freedoms, citizens must be vigilant to guard it, to vote WISELY with one's head rather than emotions and lies generated by left wing media sources. Hopefully America will vote wisely in 2012.

This is a warning to be heeded. They are on our doorstep and yet you argue over stupid things that are irrelevant, like argueing over the speaker of the quote. My dear friends it is part of the Communist plan to destroy freedom, which in America is being taken away from us one right at a time. Why would thy want this? I do not know. What I do know is that they want this governmental system to be changed into their Communist form of government, which is spread through lies and other forms of propaganda. They speak as if Communism is the answer to all problems, parading equality. I say it will be equal. It will be equal when every one of us, the Americans are their slaves as they place the shackles of slavery onto us. What do we do in order to fix this? We must break through the ordinary bubble of our lives and realize that unless we do something. Our libery will not be taken away, but given away and replaced by the chains of slavery. We must do our patriotic duty and speak out, and really, truly work to fix this country and not like the old men (I beg your pardon) who just complain about it and never raise their finger to do a thing about it. a quick composition, I apologize for the crudity of it, but I have spoken my mind, and am not overly concerned about being politically correct, but I intend to make myself heard and change something (Hopefully) au revoir P.S. As to why it matters whether Stalin said it or not, what if instead of 'Stalin' it was attributed to Sam G. Smith of Topeka Kansas... Because Sam G. Smith has no political credentials. Attributing this quote to Stalin is simply arrogance or ignorance, unless a source can be cited. It's like attributing a quote to Jefferson or Lincoln that they simply never said, what's the point? what's the motivation? The quote may indeed stand on its own, then why not just let it?

The quote is ATTRIBUTED and is stated as such. It is unnecessary to continue to post that the quote is fake -- it is indeed attributed to Stalin. Attributed by whom? My grandpa fought in the second world war and while eating he overhear General Eisenhower speaking with one of his deputy officers. He said "Go Nazis!" Now obviously this didn't actually happen. But if I were to go out and tell this to some hippie magazine they could publish it and it could become "attributed." So what we're asking is who has said that Stalin said this, and can it be verified. Anyone who knows anything about Soviet history know that the "spiritual life of the people" was alleged by the Soviet leadership to be a high priority of legislation. Issues of moral and aesthetic value are actually explicitly discussed in speeches and legal documents so it is unlikely that a reliable audience can substantiate this term.

This strategm has ancient origination as we can see from the story of Balaam in the old testament. Balam was commissioned by the King of the Moabites to curse the children of Israel who had been brought out of Egypt by Moses. Balaam could not curse them, however, because the Lord intervened.

Instead, because he desired the riches extended by the King, he counseled him that the children of Israel could not be cursed unless they sinned and committed trespass against the Lord. After that, the Moabites went in to the children of Israel and enticed them to commit whoredoms and worship false gods. Such tactics have been used ever since to weaken and take possesion of nations.

Only those with closed minds will think the quote is outlandish. We are destroying ourselves from with-in, dirty music lyrics, sex, drugs, murder, and government lies. Do you really think two planes alone brought down the Twin Towers, do really think Iraq had weapons of mass destruction, do you really think the government is trying to stop drugs from entering this country, do you really think this country will not start another war. Why do people keep electing millionaires to become presidents, the President can only serve two terms, why not members of congress. I thought we the people were the government, and yet you let a few become your voice, go to war says the president, why not send him to do the dirty work, along with those in congress. If the president told you to jump off of a bridge for the good of the country you probably would. In other words the people in this country have loss the capacity to think for them selves. I don't have time to,think, not even for the sake my children. Now look what is going on, the government is getting into the drug business, "Marijuana" whats next. It looks like, since we can't stop them we may as well join them, after all why should the dealers get all of the money. Just like the government couldn't stop gambling, so all of the states got into the gambling business, At this point, I am pretty sure Americans will continue to give up their freedoms. Remember, when the bombs fall, the president and members of congress will be underground, and even then, many of you will say, oh, we got to protect them, because we can't think.

I think that Stalin was right million percent.
With regards to the three others: independence, courage and freedom. Thus, Soviet Union and Yugoslavia had all these three characteristics, but they collapsed. The US state will collapse in the near future as well, but here there is another issue what Stalin didn't say.
This is contradiction to the old and the new social order. If you remember capitalism came instead of feudalism, therefore socialism or communism comes after capitalism.
The problem is that communism in Russia came skipping capitalism, although China did the same and is still a communist country. Why, the US administration corrupted ex-USSR heads, but couldn't do that in China. Therefore, this year China became the first economic power in the world, and US is second owing 17 trillion $. In the future second power will be Russia, India, Brazil and we will see the end. Another thinks, just thanks to Stalin today Russia is the biggest military power, you Yankee like or not. Thus, US was responsible for collapse of USSR, but US couldnt destroy Russia, dont mess with this biggest and more powerful country ever.
Stalin was not evil, but the US administration was the most evil in history, staring with Japan (two atomic bombs), Korea, Vietnam, Cuba, Grenada, Iraq, Serbia and so on.
Before that in 1918 the US attack Russia together with allies and 1922 Stalin had won a victory at Caricin (Salingad). After that Stalin beats Germany, and what would happen if he lost the war?
Stalin didn't say that he wanted US to collapse, the message was if something is missing can happened. However, in US are many think missing today, US is not any more healthy body, and trust me, many people in the world will be happy when US collapse.
However, Yankees don't forget that Stalin was your savior. Stalin is everywhere and will come even in US soon.

Well Stalin was clearly wrong, because America has never been a healthy body but a wretched thing hobbling on one leg and a wooden leg that got shot of by the british in 1812 and then an eye patch over an eye that got shot out by the vietnamese because America has never truly been a healthy body, but a dangerous wolf on a pirate ship sailing about with silly idea's and hypocritical laws that never work for everyone but the rich & greedy privateers that suckle off the teet of her sagging old british breasts = free masonism and the magna carta dream everyone in that had to bleed and die for. Lord Nelson was a hundred times more noble and they resemble each other but that wretch served a tyrant oh but wait America supposedly serves a God but i assure you it's not the bible God. Goal 27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with “social” religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity, which does not need a “religious crutch.”
Goal 28. Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violated the principle of “separation of church and state.”
Goal 26: Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as “normal, natural, healthy.”
And from the Communist Manifesto: p.88---“But, you will say, we destroy the most hallowed of relations when we replace home education by social.”
Ditto: p. 87. Abolition of the family! Even the most radical flare up at this infamous proposal of the Communists.
Goal 24: Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them “censorship” and a violation of free speech and free press.
Goal 25: Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio and TV.
Goal 29. Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a world-wide basis.
Goal 30. Discredit the American founding fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the “common man.”
Goal 31. Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history on the ground that it was only a minor part of “the big picture.”
Goal 20. Infiltrate the press. Get control of book-review assignments, editorial writing, and policy-making positions.
Goal 21. Gain control of key positions in radio, TV and motion pictures.
Goal 22. Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all forms of artistic expression. An American Communist cell was told to “eliminate all good sculpture from parks and buildings, substitute shapeless, awkward and meaningless forms.”
Goal 23. Control art critics and directors of art museums. “Our plan is to promote ugliness, repulsive, meaningless art.”
The above goals are from The Naked Communist are found in ‘Hammer.’ As Snopes (a democrat/communist publication with a history of error) says, it is difficult to prove a negative. I have the quote as found on Snopes.
The Russian Commissar of Education, Lunarcharsky, wrote: We must hate Christians and Christianity. Even the best of them must be considered our worst enemies. Christian love is an obstacle to the development of the revolution. Down with love for one’s neighbor. What we want is hate…. Only then shall we conquer the universe.” The Naked Communist, Cleon Skousan

Nikita Khrushschev, Premier of the Soviet Union, 1958 to 1964 in a recorded conversation with Ezra Taft Benson, President Eisenhower’s Secretary of Agriculture in 1959.

Independence, courage, and freedom are integral for a free people.  But cut off the individual from expressions of patriotism, morality, and spiritual life, where are the supports?  Individualism is not a rejection of association, but is the premise behind association itself.  The individual does not give away his/her personal power when agreeing to a code of association.  Consent can only be given voluntarily.
