Reader comments about this quote:
Often untrue. Liberal ideas are usually reruns of socialist thoughts, yet are pushed without reason or logic, and are anything but common sense.

In the political arena, there has been little to no new opinions in these past many years. There has simply been a restructuring of old concepts and their related applications. Repeating re-packaged failures over and over again to get a different result strengthens the notions that 'he who forgets history is doomed to re-live it', and "New opinions are always suspected, and usually opposed, without any other reason but because they are not already common." Socialism / fascism do not take into account human nature, the power of liberty, or ultimate economics; returning to the Constitution and the Republic for which is stood would be an excellent foundation for 'new opinions'

Liberals tend to be socialists. Socialists tend to be gullible and/or criminal. Socialist ideas that seem rational tend to be those used to promote socialist ideology, in general, used as a screen to hide the basic evil nature of socialism. Rehashed old ideas may still seem new within the context of generations that have not commonly considered them. An idea that has been around forever, but which I have never heard before, seems completely new to me.
