If you are going to go to war, go all the way and be done with it.

Absolutely. I have thought this has been one of the greatest shortcomings of GWB and the neocons since the very beginning of the war. They hamstrung the military and made them play by the rules of some civil police force and prosecute (persecute?) them for doing their job. In addition, I think so-called smart bombs are one of the worst things that ever happened to warfare. The limited destruction makes war acceptable for both sides and only prolongs the suffering. Fight the war. Finish the war. Come home.

That's why the US lost the war in South East Asia and been having such a hard time in Iraq, they didn't abide the quote's message.

Please tell me this quote isn't saying what I think it's saying...

Yes, it is anonymous-if you can understand that.

Or as General McArthur once said, " There is no substitute for Victory". Obama doesn't seem to understand this.

Again we look and see wars undeclared by Congress as required by the Constitution. The latest being Obama's (UN) "kinetic military action" in Libya. Are we at war? If so, declare it a war and annihilate the enemy. If not, quit wasting our lives and our money.
     -- J Carlton, Calgary

Absolutely. To be 'moderate' in war is to prolong the conflict. Gen. Sherman understood that the quickest way to defeat the South was to take the war to them.

This is a fine example of liberal logic. The premise and the conclusion do not follow any form of known logic. It's like saying The game of football is viollent, therefore, modern football is imbecility. Or, how about this one...Protecting your home from armed intruders can be violent, therefore protecting your home is imbecility. Logic demands that both side of the argument must be equal, and they must be true. You can't say that All black cats are crazy, therefore all crazy cats are black. Nobody can swear to the verasity of the premis or the conclusion. However, the libs have come up with a good one at least once... "What if they had a war and nobody showed up?"

I think General George Patton, had it right, knew this, tried to tell the politicians. War is about total atrition, leaving an enemy alive, is foolish, for if he is a man, he will come back to finish the job, to avenge his brothers killed, he cannot forget those who he percieves to be an enemy, and will seek retribution. it is a matter of common sense , it is part of the core of common sense of intelligent men. Americans, beware of those who would dumb you down, study history, and learn from it.

As Sun Tzu said, when you go to war unleash every possible avenue of force at your disposal until the enemy is completely exterminated. "No poor bastard ever won a war by dieing for his country. You win a war by making the other poor bastard die for his. Period." --George Patton-- The side that tries to fight politically correct and make war into sunshine and rainbows always loses. War is Hell, don't try to turn it into anything else. Fight with everything you've got and get through it as fast as possible.

Moderation in life, is the essence of peace and tranquility.
     -- Fredrick William Sillik, Anytown
  •
Religion is a mental illness as mental illness is a religion. Mental health is applied sciences.  Applied science is mental health.  The  elimination of as much life destroying contamination that we can muster the better off we will be as we clearly mature.

     -- Fredrick William Sillik, Anytown

Further refined: Mental health is applicable principled behavior.  Applicable principled behavior is mental health. The elimination of as much destroying contamination that we can muster, the better off we will be, as we clearly mature.

Sillik, you are extremely mentally ill as measured by your own defining hard core socialist theology. Your religion of anti-science, anti-nature's law, anti-history is also a measure of your social integrity.

Sillik, it is too bad your dictionary for mentally ill children (completely contrary to reality, science, math, etc.) so illuminates how wrong you are, so much of the time. I hope your theological delusions put an occasional smile on your countenance.

Mike,, Norwalk, good to make contact on this wonderful Saturday morning.  In this the conventional of "we are the world, we are the children" atmosphere the mentally ill children in which you refer are subjective, biased, and an unquestioning, misrepresenting, consensus of irresponsible, insensitive, insensible brats who's intentions or opinions, due to their non verifiability in an objective evidential realism, doesn't hold a shred of verifiable reality.  These childish juvenile brats gave us the Martin Luther King and Kennedy assassinations, the Sept 11, 2001 events, the wars, the great depression, the COVID-19 hoax, and the depression that followed that hoax and scheme, and with your direct association of these conventional degenerates, your judgement of my mental condition no matter how popular, is quite unjustified when the source is accurately measured, weighed, and completely considered. Good day from your good friend.

     -- Fredrick William Sillik, Anytown

Sillik, my good friend 😁 My perception of your mental condition is NOT based on conventional degenerates or any association thereto but rather, your hard core religious views that are so antithetic to nature's law, science, truth and reality (such as a real cause and effect). SO, if you can find happiness in your religion and mental illness, more power to you. Have a fantastic day !
