"Of all the enemies to public liberty war is, perhaps, the most to be dreaded because it comprises and develops the germ of every other. War is the parent of armies; from these proceed debts and taxes...known instruments for bringing the many under the domination of the few.… No nation could preserve its freedom in the midst of continual warfare."

Quotes such as this are the reason why we the people are not taught the wisdom and principles of the founders: they free us from mental slavery!

Reminds me of that saying from Orwell's 1984..."Oceania is at war, Oceania has always been at war" There's a reason for that...Keep the sheeple poor and scared in order to control them.

From the world wars, Korea, Vietnam, the war on drugs (etc.) to the present (inclusive of the police state's war on individual inalienable rights), the nation that has replaced We The People's lawful representative republic, limited by a constitution has been at continual war for generations.

For that very reason, 'war' could only be declared by Congress as representatives of the people. There has not been an official declaration of war since the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor, yet, the US has waged war for decades without a declaration of war from Congress. As a result, the people have been conned out of their rights 'for their own security' and millions are dead in 3rd world countries that somehow are a threat to the most powerful nation in the world. We The People have lost control of our servant government and are being buried in perpetual debt and totalitarian control. This must end -- succession is the first step, then perhaps the next civil war. But the people must awaken to the roots of this oppression and utterly destroy the puppet masters instead of each other.
